HFPJC 15th Anniversary: Diversity and Inclusion at UM – “The Way We Talk” Film Screening and Sharing

To promote diversity and inclusion at UM, we will host a film screening and sharing by inviting the director and some actors (TBC) of a Hong Kong movie (The Way We Talk 看我今天怎麼說) to visit UM. This film aims to record and show how those disabilities face challenges every day, showing a positive value and letting us think and practice the way about their daily life. After the movie, we will also reserve a session to share and have a Q&A with the UM audience.

Film introduction: Told through the lens of three deaf adults in their twenties, The Way We Talk follows Sophie (Chung Suet-ying), who is optimistic and strives to be seen as ‘normal’; Wolf (Neo Yau), who embraces his deafness; and Alan (Marco Ng), who seems more at ease as a member of mainstream society. Despite their differing perspectives, the three friends develop a deep bond through sign language, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Living on the fringes of a hypocritical and often hostile society, can the three friends be their true selves, overcome the sound barrier, and use sign language to express their feelings?

Participants will earn 1 Smart Point and 15 CS Points (responsible citizenship)

1. Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given one Smart Point
2. Students who arrive late or leave early within 10 minutes will be given only half a Smart Point
3. Students who arrive late or leave early over 10 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
4. Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 15 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
5. Students are required to check in/out of the activity with Student ID Card. For those who do not respect the activity or neglect the staff’s guidance, SAO reserves the right to cancel his/her Smart Point

霍英東珍禧書院15周年院慶呈獻：［多元共融在澳大］電影欣賞及分享會 – 『看我今天怎麼說』

為促進澳大的多元共融文化，我們將放映一部香港電影（《看我今天怎麼說》）及邀請該電影的導演及部分演員來訪澳大（待定）。該片旨在記錄並展現身障人士如何應對日常挑戰，傳遞積極價值觀，引發觀眾對其生活方式的思考與實踐。放映結束後，我們將安排交流環節，與澳大師生進行分享及問答互動。

電影介紹：三位聽障青年，因不同的生活選擇而展現截然不同的生命態度。子信（游學修飾）自小以身為聾人自豪，活在無聲世界怡然自得；他的莫逆之交Alan（吳祉昊飾）則選擇植入人工耳蝸和學習口語，在健聽社會中看似游刃有餘。兩人遇上積極融入社會的素恩（鍾雪瑩飾），同為聽障人士，卻各有生存之道，手語成為他們相識相知的溝通橋樑。面對社會上的偽善和不合理的制度，三位赤子置身於聾人群體的暗湧之中，能否跨越聲音的隔膜，活出真我？
