On July 4, 2025, a delegation from South China Normal University (SCNU) visited the Faculty of Education and was warmly welcomed by Prof. Bing WEI, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Education Programme (Integrated Science), Prof. Yang GONG, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Education Programme (Chinese), and Prof. Chunlian JIANG. The SCNU delegation included: Enke WANG, former President of SCNU and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Guidance Center for Primary and Secondary School Subject Education; Wei ZHANG, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences and member of the University’s Science and Education Committee; Feng WANG, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Physics, member of the University’s Science and Education Committee, and Director of its Office; Yongwang XU, Deputy Party Secretary of the Faculty of Engineering; Jianyang GUO, Section Chief of Development Planning at the Development Planning Office; and Wenjuan MAI, Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute of Science, Technology, and Society.

Prof. Wei delivered a welcome speech and introduced the Faculty of Education, including its mission, faculty development, academic programmes, and organizational structure. He further elaborated on the Faculty’s research achievements and contributions to social services, showcasing its strengths and commitment in education and academic research.

Director Wang then introduced the work of the Guangdong Provincial Guidance Center for Primary and Secondary School Subject Education, outlining its establishment and organizational structure. He highlighted the Elite Cultivation Program and the Fertile Ground Program as key talent development initiatives. Additionally, Director Wang emphasized the Center’s pioneering role in establishing a Science Education Steering Committee, its involvement in national research projects, and its efforts in advancing STEM education. He also shared the progress and accomplishments of the National Physics Textbook Base for Primary and Secondary Schools in textbook development and research.

During subsequent discussions, both parties explored potential collaboration opportunities, with a focus on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Science Education Alliance. They proposed joint efforts in teacher training and student development by leveraging expert and educational resources across the Greater Bay Area.

The meeting was concluded with a souvenir exchange, marking a significant step toward future cooperation in education and mutual growth in pedagogical innovation and practice.
