Dear Colleagues and Students,
The 2025 Mainland and Hong Kong-Macao Universities Faculty and Student Exchange Program — “Mathematics Culture Journey on the Silk Road” is now open for registration. Jointly organized by Lanzhou University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and University of Macau, this programme will take place from July 18 to 28, 2025, with the offline activities scheduled from July 21 to 23. This project not only serves as a platform for cultural exchange, but also offers a unique opportunity to explore the history and significance of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Aligned with the national call to strengthen basic scientific research, the program will feature a series of mathematics-related cultural and practical activities in both online and offline formats. Participants will have the chance to attend short professional courses, join teaching experience sharing sessions, and visit historically significant museums such as the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Construction Exhibition Hall and the Gansu Provincial Museum. Additionally, field trips including a hiking tour along the Yellow River scenic area will allow participants to experience both natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
Notably, this year’s programme reserves 40 spots for students from Hong Kong and Macau (including 15 for offline participation), accompanied by 4 faculty members. The total group size is about 60 people who will learn together, deepen mutual understanding, and enhance academic and personal connections across regions.

- Short professional courses: Introduction to Statistical Machine Learning, Asymptotic Analysis and Boundary Layer Theory, etc.

- National talent experience sharing session
- Visits to Qinghai-Tibet Railway Construction Exhibition Hall, Gansu Provincial Museum, Dunhuang Art Gallery (to explore Dunhuang murals)
- Hiking along the Yellow River scenic area
- Visit to Lanzhou University Museum’s collection exhibition and university history museum

2025年內地與港澳高等學校師生交流計劃——“隴上行數學文化之旅（第五期）”現開放報名。本次項目由蘭州大學攜手香港理工大學和澳門大學共同舉辦，定於2025年7月18日至28日舉行，其中7月21日至23日為線下活動時間。此項目不僅是一個文化交流的平台，更是一次深入了解絲綢之路經濟帶歷史及其重要性的絕佳機會。
項目旨在響應國家加強基礎科學研究的號召，通過線上線下結合的方式，開展一系列關於數學文化的實踐活動。參與者將有機會聆聽短期專業課程、參與教學經驗交流會，並參觀具有重大歷史意義的博物館，如青藏鐵路路基建設展館和甘肅省博物館等。此外，還將組織徒步黃河風情線等活動，讓學員在領略自然美景的同時，感受濃厚的歷史文化底蘊。
