滿珍紀念書院:澳大心理健康推廣月 ─ 「我的感恩日記」工作坊

Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau held a “My Gratitude Journal” workshop on 27th October, 2025. The workshop aimed to help participants experience the power of gratitude through writing and sharing, thereby enhancing mental well-being and life satisfaction. Led by college social worker, Ms. Yan Leong, the workshop explored the importance and positive impact of gratitude in daily life, including boosting happiness, improving interpersonal relationships, and reducing stress. Participants learned how gratitude can serve as an internal resource when facing life’s challenges, and were introduced to the basic methods of writing a gratitude journal. Following this, Leong led a gratitude meditation session, encouraging participants to quietly reflect on the small moments in their daily lives and personally record the people and events they felt thankful for.
The workshop also featured small group sharing sessions, where members took turns sharing their gratitude stories, offering feedback and reflections to one another, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere. During the final group sharing, representatives from each group shared touching stories and insights, and discussed how to incorporate gratitude into everyday life. Participants generally expressed that the workshop not only taught them practical ways to practice gratitude, but also helped them rediscover the beauty and meaning in life.
“I filled the first page of my gratitude journal with a small unexpected incident. At that moment, I realized for the first time that even ‘a blessing in disguise’ is something to be grateful for. This realization made me feel deeply fulfilled. The gratitude journal truly enhanced my sense of happiness and contentment. I will continue writing and make gratitude a part of my life.” — William Sun
“The gratitude journal activity moved me deeply. I realized there are so many things in life to be thankful for, and so many joyful feelings worth remembering. This activity reminded us to pay more attention to the beauty around us. It not only helps maintain a cheerful mood but also brings a sense of meaning.” — Rona Yang
“This activity felt like a spiritual cleansing. It allowed me to pause amidst the busyness and rediscover the everyday beauty I had overlooked—a ray of sunshine, a kind greeting. When I picked up the pen to write, I was surprised to find how abundant and rich my life truly is. Gratitude makes an ordinary day warm and radiant.” — Zanker Liu
