Dear Colleagues and Students,

With the full support from the University of Macau Development Foundation (UMDF), the University of Macau has established the “UMDF Named Professorships” and the “UMDF Professorial Fellowships” as significant honours to outstanding scholars in various disciplines. By inviting different named professors and professorial fellows to give academic lectures, we hope that academic exchange and interaction will be strengthened, making UM a better place to learn and study.

We are honoured to have invited Professor Yonghong WU to speak at the upcoming UMDF Professorial Fellowship Lecture. Prof. Wu is the UMDF Professorial Fellow of Government and Public Administration, Professor and the Head of the Department of Government and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social Sciences. He will speak on the topic “The Color of Taxation: An Empirical Analysis of Income Tax Burden in the U.S.”, which will discuss racial disparities in the U.S. tax burden.

All members of the UM community and the general public are cordially invited to this splendid event. Details of the event are as below:

For participants who have registered and attended the lecture, Smart Point / CS will be given and it is considered attending a RC activity (“Knowledge Integration”). 

 

 

 

Please observe the following guidelines of Smart Point scheme:

1. Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given 1 Smart Point and 15 “Knowledge Integration” (CS).
2. Students who arrive late or leave early over 5 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point.
3. Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 10 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point.
4. Students are required to check in/out of the activity with their valid Student ID Card.
5. For those who do not respect the activity or ignore the staff’s guidance, Student Affairs Office (SAO) reserves the right to cancel his/her Smart Point. SAO also reserves the right to interpret and process the Smart Point scheme.

　　我們很榮幸邀請了吳永紅教授擔任 “澳門大學發展基金會傑出學人講座” 的主講嘉賓，以 “稅制與種族：美國個人所得稅負擔的實證研究” 為題發表演說。吳教授是澳門大學發展基金會政府與公共行政學傑出學人教授、社會科學學院政府與行政學系教授及系主任。在講座上，吳教授將討論美國稅負中存在的種族差異。
