Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College and UM Library successfully organized Multimedia Certificate Course

The Multimedia Certificate Course which jointly organized in AY2025/2026 by the Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC) of the University of Macau (UM) Library, has recently concluded successfully. The course was launched in September 2025, the two-month programme comprised four sessions totaling six hours of structured instruction, with a completion ceremony held at the Library on 1 December 2025 to present certificates to students who fulfilled the course requirements.

Co-planned by both units, the course featured a teaching team organized by the Library, with student assistants serving as instructors, while the College oversaw participant recruitment. The curriculum covered a range of multimedia skills, including poster design, video editing, motion graphics production, and creative AR tool applications, aiming to enhance students’ digital literacy and creative expression. The initiative attracted participation from around twenty HFPJC students.

At the completion ceremony, Prof. Hui Sai Chuan, College Master of HFPJC, and Prof. Xu Hong, University Librarian, delivered remarks commending participants for their active engagement and notable progress. They emphasized the importance of multimedia competencies in the digital era for improving learning outcomes, showcasing achievements, and supporting future career development. Both expressed anticipation for continued collaboration between the College and the Library to launch more creative and cross-disciplinary learning activities that foster students’ diverse capabilities.

Subsequently, certificates were awarded to ten participants who not only completed the course but also demonstrated outstanding performance. The ceremony concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with staff and students taking group photos to mark the successful completion of the programme.
