This special seminar will feature Prof. Jie ZHANG, Chair Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China and Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, who will share his visionary insights into extending artificial intelligence into sound and vibration sensing.

Speaker’s Introduction: Prof. Jie Zhang is a pioneering scientist, entrepreneur, and educator with a Ph.D. in Geophysics from MIT. Over his distinguished career, he has founded five high-tech companies in the U.S. and has received numerous accolades, including the SEG Reginald Fessenden Award, the NSF Antarctic Service Medal, and recognition as the “Most Creative Person in China” by Fast Company. Elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2020, his work bridges geophysics, AI, and sensor technology, enabling transformative applications in robotics, autonomous systems, infrastructure monitoring, and environmental sensing.

This talk will be especially valuable for students interested in artificial intelligence, sensor technology, geophysics, robotics, autonomous systems, signal processing, and interdisciplinary engineering applications.
