On 7 March 2026, the Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau (UM) held a lunch reception with FED’s Principals’ Recommended Admission (PRA) scholarship recipients and invited parties 2026/2027. The event brought together academic staff, award recipients, and representatives of invited units, providing an opportunity for participants to learn more about the undergraduate programmes offered by the faculty in a warm and engaging atmosphere.

During the gathering, Prof. Dongbo ZHANG, Associate Dean (Teaching and Curriculum Development) and Programme Coordinator of Doctor of Education delivered a welcome speech on behalf of FED. He welcomed the award recipients and guests, and introduced the distinctive features of undergraduate education in the Faculty of Education, as well as matters related to undergraduate studies. He also encouraged students to plan for their future studies proactively and make the most of the diverse learning opportunities available in university life.

This was followed by introduction of the Programme Coordinators for the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes including Prof. Yang GONG, Prof. Barry Lee REYNOLDS, Prof. Xinrong YANG, Prof. Bing WEI, Prof. Min-Chuan SUNG and the representative from Pre-primary Education Programme Prof. Si Man LEI. They introduced the Bachelor of Education Programme in Chinese, English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Primary and Pre-Primary, respectively. Through these introductions, participants gained a better understanding of the characteristics, learning focus, and development pathways of the undergraduate programmes offered by the faculty. Prof. Shulin YU, Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) and Director of the Centre for Language and Literacy Education introduced the structure and objectives of the House Programme, hoping that PRA students could maintain connections and support each other through the Houses in future.

The gathering concluded with a lunch session, during which participants enjoyed a relaxed and pleasant time interacting with academic staff. The event not only enhanced award recipients’ and invited units’ understanding of the Faculty of Education’s programmes and learning environment, but also reflected the faculty’s commitment to student development and meaningful engagement, laying a positive foundation for students’ future academic journey.
