【Sports Seminars and Workshop】“The Path to be a Winner of World University Games” Sharing Sessions were held successfully

【體.講座】「澳大傑出運動員 — 世大運摘金之道」 分享會已圓滿舉辦

“The Path to be a Winner of World University Games” Sharing Session, organized by the Office of Sports Affairs (OSA), was held successfully on 30 August at Sports Pavilion (N8). Wong Sam In, who won a gold and a bronze medal in the women’s Nanquan and Nandao of the Wushu event respectively at the 31st FISU World University Games, was invited to share her successful experience. It attracted over 600 UM staff and student participants.

At the beginning of the sharing session, Vice Rector (Student Affairs) Prof. Mok Kai Meng presented the “Certificate of Congratulations” to Wong Sam In. Following the presentation, Wong shared her successful experience at how to keep the balance between sports and academics, releasing stress and how to overcome injury, and winning the gold medal in the World University Games. After that, the father of Wong, also the Interim College Master of Cheng Yu Tung College, Prof. Wong Seng Fat shared his feelings and expressed his support. Prof. Wong said as the father of an athlete, he always struggles with how to express his support since he was afraid that it will be putting pressure on her.. Wong Sam In admitted that she once wanted to give up her career as an athlete after the injury. She is grateful to her family and coaches for their constant support and companionship, which gave her the strength to persevere. In the end, Wong Sam In demonstrated Nanquan to all audiences to complete the sharing session.
