Congraulations to Student Han Soi Wa on winning 2 golds at Asian Junior Wushu Championships

熱烈祝賀韓瑞華同學亞洲青少年武術錦標賽勇奪2金

The “2023 SJM 11th Asian Junior Wushu Championships” was held in Macau from 17 to 20 Aug 2023. There were nearly 300 junior Wushu athletes from 23 countries and regions participated in the championship this year. UM Martial Arts Team Member Han Soi Wa (FBA/CYTC), won 2 gold medals in Boy’s Taijishan A and Boy’s Taijiquan A of the Wushu event respectively at the championships.

Han Soi Wa was admitted to “Principal Recommended Admission Scheme (Outstanding Student-Athletes)” in 2023/2024 and got the “University of Macau Golden Lotus Scholarship”. Now he is a first-year student in the Department of Finance and Business Economics of the Faculty of Business Administration and the Cheng Yu Tung College. The scheme aims to praise local student-athletes who accomplish remarkable sports achievement and to encourage them to pursue higher academic qualifications while continue to make breakthrough in their sports, so that they can become outstanding student-athletes who excel in both academic and sports.

He expressed his glad to win 2 Gold medals at Asian Junior Wushu Championships and his gratitude to his coach, team mates and family for their support. “I hope to continue to do what I love and enjoy martial arts in the future. At the same time, I also hope to participate in more international competitions which could earn international honours for Macau and UM.”
