To further promote the research on 5G communication technology in the Greater Bay Area and Macau, representatives of the “Greater Bay Area 5G Industry Alliance” visited the University of Macau (UM) on the 7th to have a lively discussion on establishing a 5G+ ecosystem and promoting the continuous and steady development of industry-academia research collaboration. The visiting group has more than 30 representatives from the Alliance and corporate executives, including representatives from Macau Telecom, Bank of China (Hong Kong), China Mobile Hong Kong, Alibaba Cloud, Huawei, and Multibyte Info Technology, etc. They collectively expressed their opinions on improving the Greater Bay Area 5G+ industry chain and issues related to the Internet of Things.

During the visit of UM, Song Yonghua, UM Rector and Xu Jian, UM Vice Rector (administration) led the alliance representatives to visit UM Auditorium,  The State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (AMSV) and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC). They engaged in in-depth discussions on strengthening cooperation and innovation in the Greater Bay Area 5G+ industry. The Greater Bay Area is served as an important region for innovative technology, UM will strengthen industry-academia research collaboration with the alliance in the future and jointly promote research and technological innovation in 5G technology. The 5G technology can be applied in the fields of intelligent transportation, smart cities, and industrial internet, UM will continue to provide strong technical and talent support for the economic development of the Greater Bay Area and Macau.

Sean Lee, the founding chairman of the Greater Bay Area 5G Industry Alliance and director and chief executive officer of China Mobile Hong Kong, stated that they will continue to uphold the principle of win-win cooperation, leverage the influence of the alliance, and collaborate with academia to construct the 5G industry ecosystem. Through strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the University of Macau and other universities, they aim to bring more opportunities and development potential to the Greater Bay Area and Macau.

In addition, Xu Cheng-Zhong, Dean of UM’s Faculty of Science and Technology, Ma Shaodan, Assistant Director of SKL-IOTSC, Gong Zhiguo, Head of the Department of Computer and Information Science (CIS), Wu Yuan, Associate Professor of CIS, and Zhou Bin, Technology Transfer Officer of SKL-AMSV, also attended as representatives of UM.

為進一步推動大灣區及澳門本地的5G通訊技術的研究,「大灣區5G產業聯盟」代表日前 (7日) 訪問澳門大學,就建立5G+的生態系統,推動產學研持續穩步發展展開熱烈討論。此次訪問共吸引30多名聯盟代表及企業管理層參與,包括澳門電訊、中銀香港、中國移動香港、阿里雲、華為及博元訊息等,各方共同就完善大灣區5G+產業鏈及物聯網等議題發表意見。

是次交流參訪中,澳大校長宋永華及徐建副校長(行政事務)帶領聯盟代表們參觀了大學展館、模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室及智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室,各方就加強大灣區5G+產業鏈的合作與創新進行深入交流。大灣區作為創新科技的重要區域,未來澳大將與聯盟加強產學研合作,共同推動5G技術的研究及技術創新,把5G技術應用在智慧交通、智慧城市、工業互聯網等領域,為大灣區及澳門經濟發展提供有力的技術及人才支持。

中國移動香港有限公司董事兼行政總裁及大灣區5G產業聯盟創會會長李帆風表示,未來將繼續秉持合作共贏的原則,發揮聯盟的影響力,聯合學界攜手構建5G產業生態。通過加強與澳門大學等高校交流合作,為大灣區及澳門帶來更多的機遇和發展潛力。

此外,澳大科技學院院長須成忠、智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室副主任馬少丹、電腦及資訊科學系系主任鞏志國、副教授吳遠、模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室及微電子研究院技術轉移主任周斌也作為澳大代表參與此次接待。
