Dear UM Students,
The English Co-Curricular Activities Committee (ECAC), English Language Centre (ELC) of FAH, is inviting you to “Communicate with Self Portraits” workshop.
- Learn contemporary and historical photographic trends.
- Practice English to critique photos with the correct terminologies.
- Employ effective techniques in photography including composition, lighting, colour and image quality.
This is a 2-session workshop where students will develop an understanding of the use of English related to contemporary and historical photographic trends.
In the first session, students will consider the grammar and vocabulary of photography (i.e. color, composition, camera functions and movement) and analyze how famous photographers have used these to communicate ideas and feelings.
In the second session, students will share their own photographs with the class and discuss how successful they were in communicating their own ideas and feelings. Students will employ effective techniques of photographic execution. It is highly suggested to complete the 2 workshops for better results.
