We are pleased to share with you that the 2024 University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Future Scientist Exchange Program (FuSEP) will be kicked off at USTC this summer. The program this year will take the form of Summer Research from July 1st to August 25th, 2024 in Hefei, Anhui, China.

 

What is the program about?

With the theme of “Science and Technology for a Shared Future”, the 2024 FuSEP Summer Research Program will select excellent students to work on scientific research projects in experimental teams supervised by University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) professors for 4-8 weeks. Participants are expected to submit a report highlighting their research findings and experiences at USTC. Beyond the research experience, the program offers a diverse array of activities, including enlightening lectures on academic topics, visits to national laboratories, cultural site tours, and the chance to interact with USTC student clubs. Field of research projects: Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics*, Engineering*, Computer Science and Technology*

*Note: The projects for undergraduate students in the fields of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Engineering are jointly conducted with Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and Fudan University under the Global Research Immersion Program for Young Scientists (GripS). Thus, undergraduates interested in these three fields should apply through GripS (http://grips.zju.edu.cn).

 

Program Duration

For undergraduates, July 1st to August 25th, 2024
For graduates, July 1st to July 30th, 2024

 

Target Students
·Full-time registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at home university during the stay at USTC;
·Having completed at least two years of full-time undergraduate studies in the relevant major by the Summer of 2024;
·Academic Excellence with a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of “B” or above, with good knowledge of English.

Benefits
·Waived tuition and registration fees;
·Excellent students will be supported by USTC Fellowship which may include a travel grant (for students of overseas citizenship only), insurance, and local accommodation;
·Provided Certificate of Participation and Performance Evaluation;
·International students who apply for degree programs in the future will be given priority for winning a sponsorship if they have obtained the certificate of the program.
