On June 18th, 2024, Wynn Macau, in collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University of Macau (UM) and with the support of the University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), successfully hosted the“Macao SME Training Series – UM x Wynn Macau TCM & Big-Health Industry Study Tour” at UM.

The CIE is committed to building a system for technology transfer and innovation entrepreneurship and to cultivate innovative talents. It aims to facilitate the industrial development in Macau and provide broad growth and career development opportunities for the youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area（GBA）, with the aspiration to ‘with the aspiration to “planning for the youth, planning for Macau, and contributing to the development of the Greater Bay Area”. Concurrently, the “Macao SME Training Series” hosted by Wynn Macau aims to promote and encourage local SMEs to continuously improve their technology and service levels, work together to achieve “Made in Macau”, and expand greater development space. This alignment of goals led to a successful event that embodied beneficial collaboration between universities and enterprises, contributing to Macau’s diverse economic development.

The guest of honor who attended the event included Ms. Linda Chen, the President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau Limited; Dr. Barry Ip, Vice President of Learning & Advancement for Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau; Ms. Jasmine Cheong, Vice President of Community and Government Relations for Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace; and Ms. Kimberly Tan, Executive Director of Procurement for Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau. Also in attendance for social networking were Mr. Marco Fong, Assistant Director of Procurement, and Ms. Karen Cheang, Senior Manager of SME Procurement and over 30 local SMEs.

The event was divided into two parts: seminar and a tour of the CIE. In the first part involved a seminar delivered by the Mr. Alan Kin Va Choi, the President of Association of Macao Pharmaceutic Products Manufacturer on the topic of “The Business Positioning and Brand Building of Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Products”. The second part included an introduction to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Office and a tour of National Co-working Space. Participants also had the unique opportunity to visit the Hap On Aromatherapy Exploration Hall and experience the full process of customizing aroma bags and essential oils.

The event provided participants with invaluable insights into traditional Chinese medicine and health products, and also encouraged the exploration of new possibilities for Macau’s diverse economic development through innovation and entrepreneurship, actively supporting the Special Administrative Region government’s “1+4” moderate diversification development strategy.
