Student-centred or learner-centred education is a buzzword that encompasses a wide range of teaching approaches and activities, including greater opportunities to participate in class or gain real-life skills that can be used outside of the classroom (Bremner, 2021). Aspects of student-centred learning that are prioritized by educators, e.g., peer-to-peer interaction, real-life skills, formative assessment, etc., may vary depending on the subject matter taught or context in which learning takes place.
At the University of Macau (UM), student-centred education takes place not only in classrooms, lecture halls, and laboratories but around the campus, in Residential Colleges, student organizations, and even online. Educators from UM shared, at a recent interactive online seminar held by CTLE, examples of strategies for blended-learning in their context. Yet, the challenge of educators to constantly improve the quality of education and to identify the essential aspects of effective learner-centred pedagogy persists (Li, 2021).
Join us at an upcoming seminar in which Prof. Cecilia Chun, the Director of the Centre for Learning Enhancement and Research of the Chinese University of Hong Kong will share her insights into why active learning is essential and several strategies to engage students.

哪些方法能有效運用在以學生為中心的澳大教學裡?
以學生為中心,或以學習者為中心的教育,是現今教學裡相當流行,涵蓋了廣泛的教學方法和活動,當中包括獲得更多參與課堂的機會,或在課外使用的現實生活技能(Bremner,2021 年)。 教學人員會對此優先考慮包括例如同伴互動、現實生活技能、形成性評估等的多個學習方面,當然以上會因所教學主題或環境等有差異。
在澳大,以學生為中心的教育不僅發生在教室、演講廳和實驗室,更多的在校園、住宿式書院、學生組織甚至在線學習。 澳大的老師們在本中心最近舉辦的教師專業發展活動上,分享了以混合學習策略的示例;但老師們仍然面臨著依而存在的挑戰,包提高教育質量、確立以學習者為中心的有效教學法。(Li,2021)。
