Student of Lui Che Woo College was awarded first prize in the Chinese Mathematics Competition
呂志和書院院生獲得全國大學生數學競賽一等獎
近日，第十六屆全國大學生數學競賽圓滿落幕。呂志和書院院生, 科技學院數學系一年級學生伍弘慶在本次競賽中表現優異，榮獲數學專業B組一等獎，指導教師為書院副院長周國暉教授。
全國大學生數學競賽由中國數學會主辦，是中國高校數學人才培養的重要平台之一。該競賽旨在激發學生對數學的濃厚興趣，提升其綜合素養，推動數學教育的創新與發展。自2009年起，全國大學生數學競賽已成功舉辦十六屆，成為廣大學子展示數學才華和交流學術思想的重要舞台。
呂志和書院注重學術發展，極為重視大學生課外學習能力的培養，特別設立了學術部，由院生管理，負責組織和協調學術培訓、學科競賽等活動。例如，書院積極組織學生參加美國大學生數學建模大賽、全球管理大賽、全國大學生市場調查與分析大賽等。
Recently, the 16th Chinese Mathematics Competition concluded successfully. Our college student Ng Wang Heng, who is a first-year student of Department of Mathematics in FST, excelled in the competition, winning the first prize in the Mathematics B Group under the supervision of Professor Chao Kuok Fai, the Associate Master of Lui Che Woo College.
The Chinese Mathematics Competition is organized by the Chinese Mathematical Society and serves as an important platform for cultivating mathematical talent in Chinese higher education. The competition aims to stimulate students’ strong interest in mathematics, enhance their overall competence, and promote innovation and development in mathematics education. Since its inception in 2009, the competition has been successfully held sixteen times, becoming a significant stage for students to showcase their mathematical talents and exchange academic ideas.
Lui Che Woo College emphasizes academic development and places great importance on cultivating students’ learning abilities. To this end, it has established an Academic Section managed by college students, which is responsible for organizing and coordinating academic training and subject competitions. For instance, the college actively organizes student participation in competitions such as the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) Mathematics Modeling Competition, the Global Management Competition, and the National College Students Market Research and Analysis Competition.
