[FED Inaugural Lecture] My Research, Reflection and Vision about Teacher Education and Teacher Professional Development: The Case of Mathematics Successfully Held
[教育學院就職演講] 我在教師教育與教師專業發展領域的研究、反思與展望:以數學學科為例圓滿舉行
On 23 April 2025, FED Inaugural Lecture on “My Research, Reflection and Vision about Teacher Education and Teacher Professional Development: The Case of Mathematics” was held in the Tin Ka Ping Lecture Hall, Faculty of Education (E33-G021), at the University of Macau (UM). Prof. Lianghuo FAN, Chair Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education, UM is invited as the speaker of the lecture. Prof. Fan holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and has extensive experience in education and research in mainland China, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He began his career as a mathematics teacher and later became a teacher educator and educational researcher, with a long-standing focus on teacher education and professional development.
In this inaugural lecture, Prof. Fan shared his extensive research on mathematics teacher education and teacher professional development across different cultural contexts. Drawing from his personal experience as a school teacher, teacher educator and academic, he reflected on key issues in teacher education and discussed how pedagogical knowledge develops in practice. He also presented findings from his influential Chinese-language book “A study on the development of teachers’ pedagogical knowledge (《教師教學知識發展研究》)“, which has been cited over 1,800 times in the CNKI database and recognized for pioneering a new direction in teacher education research in China; his research profoundly reveals the importance of teachers’ own experiences and reflections, as well as their daily interactions with colleagues, in the development of their teaching knowledge. It also presents insights into the nature of teaching knowledge and its implications for both pre-service and in-service teacher education and professional development; his English-language book “Investigating the pedagogy of mathematics: How do teachers develop their pedagogical knowledge” has been praised as “a great contribution to the mathematics teacher education scholarship” with significant implications for teachers, educators, policymakers and researchers around the world. In conclusion, Prof. Fan shared his vision for the future of teacher education and professional development, addressing the challenges and opportunities for growth through educational research and practice.

2025年4月23日,教育學院就職演講 “我在教師教育與教師專業發展領域的研究、反思與展望:以數學學科為例” 於澳門大學教育學院田家炳演講廳(E33-G021)舉行,主講人為澳門大學教育學院院長及講座教授范良火。范教授擁有美國芝加哥大學博士學位,曾在中國內地、新加坡及英國從事教師教育與教育研究工作。他的職業生涯始於數學教師,後轉為師範類高校的教師教育者與教育研究者,長期專注於教師教育與教師專業發展等領域。
在本次講座中,范教授分享了他在中美等地多年關於數學教師教育與教師專業發展的研究成果。他結合自身從一線教師到教育學者的經歷,反思教師教育的重要議題與實踐經驗,尤其強調教師教學知識的發展路徑與跨文化比較研究的價值。隨後,他介紹了其標誌性著作《教師教學知識發展研究》,該書被譽為 “為國內教師教育研究開闢了新的道路”,在中國國家知識基礎設施(CNKI)中被引用超過1,800次;他的研究深刻地揭示了教師自身的經驗和反思、以及和同事的日常交流對教師教學知識發展的重要性,並提出了關於教師教學知識本質的認識及對職前和職後教師教育和專業發展的影響;他的英文著作《 Investigating the pedagogy of mathematics: How do teachers develop their pedagogical knowledge》 被國際學界評價為 “對於數學教師教育學術研究的巨大貢獻”。最後,范教授展望了未來教師教育的發展方向,並探討了教師專業發展在教育研究與實踐中面臨的挑戰與希望。
