On the evening of 9^th March, 2023, Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau screened “Father’s Mountain”, a documentary produced by Dream Sail Association. Attendees included Prof. Kwok-cheung CHEUNG, College Master; Mr Wai Lok WONG, consultant of Dream Sail Association, Mr Chi Wan U, Director; Mr Iok Leng WONG, a character in the documentary. In his opening speech, Prof. Cheung hoped that students will remember history, understand more about the contributions made by veterans to the country, and enhance their spirit of loving our country and Macao.

 “Father’s Mountain” is based on the life of Pan Kun WONG, a retired veteran living in Macao, and his son Iok Leng WONG, so as to recall his active participation in the War of Resistance Against Japan when he was young, witnessing the rise of new China today.  During the post-screening sharing session, Mr Iok Leng WONG showed the audience his father’s medals of honor and expressed his appreciation for his father’s heroic deeds in defending his family and country. Director Yu said that loving one’s country is not just talking about it, but actually loving the people around us, loving our father, loving our hometown, and embracing our memories… Finally, the event ended with the playing of  “Ode to Heroes”, which fully expressed respect and love for warfighters.  The day after the event, Mr Pan Kun WONG died of illness at the age of 95. Here, on behalf of all students and staff, MCM College would like to pay tribute to this heroic warrior.
