University of Macau and Tsinghua University won the second place in the University group A Db12 dragon boat 200m sprint

Competition Highlights  

UM Dragon Boat Team got the 1 Silver and 1 Bronze at “2025 International Elite Universities Water Sports Open”

The “2025 International Elite Universities Water Sports Open” was held on 27 to 29 Jun at Hangzhou. Organised by Zhejiang University, the event attracted 26 teams from world-renowned universities at home and abroad, including University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Harvard University, Yale University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, The University of Hong Kong, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xiamen University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Zhejiang A&F University, Zhejiang University of Science & Technology, Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology, Fujian University of Technology, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Huzhou University, Huzhou University (International Team), Shenyang City University.

To foster deeper sports and cultural exchanges among universities, this year’s event introduced an innovative dual-university team format. In the University group A Db12 dragon boat 200m sprint, the joint team composed of the University of Macau and Tsinghua University delivered an impressive performance after intense competition, securing second place and showcasing the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship between the two institutions.

Meanwhile, in the University group A mixed kayak double 200m held concurrently, UM’s BOSCO LEI LAGARICA (FSS/CKYC) and LEI IAN I (FSS/MCMC) demonstrated outstanding skill, earning third place on the podium.
