In the evening of August 24, 2025, Cheong Kun Lun College of the University of Macau held a special screening of the film Nanjing Photographic Studio at Galaxy Cinemas. This event was more than a simple film viewing; it also served as a profound educational experience, conveying the spirit of patriotism and devotion to Macao.

Nanjing Photographic Studio revisits the darkest moments of the fall of Nanjing in 1937 from a unique perspective. It tells the story of ordinary people at Jixiang Photo Studio who risked their lives to protect photographic evidence of the Japanese army’s atrocities. During the screening, the atmosphere was solemn and respectful. Students were deeply engrossed in the film’s gripping plot, immersing themselves in that tragic historical period. The bravery and resilience displayed by the characters allowed everyone to profoundly sense the immense sacrifices their predecessors made for national dignity and independence.

After the film, many students were visibly moved, with their emotions still lingering long after the film ended. One student shared, “Prior to this, I had only learned about that historical period from textbooks, but this film let me vividly experience the brutality of war and the suffering of our predecessors. We must remember history and cherish the peace we have today.” Another student mentioned, “As students of the University of Macau, we should especially inherit and promote the spirit of patriotism and devotion to Macao. We must contribute to the prosperity and stability of Macao and the development of our country.”

Cheong Kun Lun College has always been committed to nurturing students’ patriotism and devotion to Macao through diverse activities, enhancing their overall qualities.
