On 19 November 2025, Stanley Ho East Asia College (SHEAC) of the University of Macau organized a thoughtfully planned visit to The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The delegation included the Associate Master Dr. Sancia Wan and 15 students. The visit was graciously coordinated and warmly hosted by HKU’s Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre, fostering rich and diverse interaction opportunities.

Upon arrival in the morning, the delegation first attended a seminar hosted by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS), gaining in-depth understanding of the professional career planning guidance and support resources HKU offers to their students. Following the seminar, HKU student ambassadors led the delegates on a campus tour covering the Main and Centennial Campuses, allowing them to experience the HKU’s vibrant academic atmosphere firsthand.

During lunch, students from both universities engaged in lively discussions, with HKU students sharing insights into university life, further motivating their peers to pursue academic excellence. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering’s Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing. They explored cutting-edge facilities including the robotic arm workshop, 3D printing lab, coding studios, small-scale electrical formula style race car, and robotics competition preparation area. The visit revealed the practical integration of innovation and technology in higher education.

Later, the group sat in a lecture of the course “Energy Futures, Globalization and Sustainability”. The session focused on social capital, social innovation and resilience, examining their relationship to energy literacy, and enhancing students’ understanding of core concepts in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. The full day’s itinerary was rich in content, blending theory and practice, and encouraged students to reflect deeply on their academic pathways and career planning.

Participants said that the visit provided concrete and practical knowledge, filling them with confidence and anticipation for further studies. One student said, “The event was well organized. Through the career planning seminar, I realized that career guidance is not about steering us onto a specific path but about inspiring us to plan boldly and authentically based on deep self-awareness, even exploring non-traditional routes that suit our unique aspirations amid diverse job trends.” Another expressed, “I was deeply impressed by the Innovation Wing. The university provides excellent spaces and resources that bring together talents passionate about innovation, fostering a vibrant collaborative atmosphere. This environment empowers students to implement their creativity in competitions and projects that contribute to technological and social advancement. I aspire to such efficient and innovative teamwork and believe these university initiatives will greatly influence my future career development.”

Stanley Ho East Asia College looks forward to continuing the development of high-quality academic exchange platforms that inspire students’ potential and broaden their horizons. This initiative supports students in effectively planning their academic and professional futures, enhancing both professional competence and global perspectives.
