[FED] Faculty of Education Held a Full-day Retreat for Academic Staff

To review the major achievements of the 2024/2025 academic year and to plan for the development of the new academic year, the Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau held a full-day retreat for academic staff on 3 December 2025 at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. The event brought together all academic members of the Faculty, providing an important occasion for reflection, exchange, and collaborative planning to further enhance teaching, research, and external partnership efforts.

The retreat began with opening remarks delivered by Prof. Lianghuo FAN, Dean and Director of Centre for STEM and AI Education of FED. Dean Fan commended the collective achievements of the past year in teaching innovation, research productivity, community service, and international collaboration. He expressed sincere appreciation to all staff members for their dedication, and encouraged colleagues to continue advancing excellence in cross-disciplinary collaboration, talent development, and research output, strengthening the Faculty’s long-term international impact.

Following this, Prof. Mingming ZHOU, Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies) and Programme Coordinator of Master of Philosophy presented an overview of postgraduate and doctoral programme admissions. Prof. Zhou highlighted that competition for the 2025 intake had been particularly strong, with record-high applicant numbers and increasingly strong academic profiles. Next, Prof. Dongbo ZHANG, Associate Dean (Teaching and Curriculum Development) and Programme Coordinator of Doctor of Education reported on undergraduate admissions. Prof. Zhang noted steady growth in undergraduate applications and emphasized upcoming curriculum enhancements aimed at strengthening interdisciplinarity and alignment with trends in school education.

Prof. Keang Ieng VONG, Assistant Dean (School Engagements and External Relations) reviewed the Faculty’s collaborations with local schools and education organizations. Prof. Vong stressed ongoing efforts to expand teaching practice partnerships, joint research projects, and professional development initiatives. Afterwards, Prof. Shulin YU, Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) and Director of Centre for Language and Literacy Education updated on student support services and House Programme initiatives. Prof. Yu emphasized the continued enhancement of student support through diverse activities and community engagement.

The morning session concluded with an interactive Q&A between the Dean and staff members. The afternoon session continued with annual reports delivered by Directors of the various centres, each outlining the major achievements and developments of their respective units. Prof. Zhaowei KONG, Director of Centre for Arts and Physical Education presented the centre’s key accomplishments over the past year. Prof. Kong summarized the centre’s initiatives in arts and physical education, including programme development, student engagement, and collaborations with local schools and organizations. Following this, Prof. Nan ZHOU, Director of Centre for Educational Psychology and Early Childhood Education reported on the centre’s progress in research, community services, and professional training. Prof. Zhou highlighted the centre’s contributions in psychological assessment support, early childhood education outreach, and its involvement in evidence-based educational projects. 

Next, Prof. Shulin YU, Director of Centre for Language and Literacy Education outlined the centre’s major achievements in language and literacy education. Prof. Yu reviewed the centre’s teaching initiatives, language support programmes, community activities, and research advancements that strengthened literacy development across different age groups. Afterwards, Prof. Fu CHEN, Assistant Director of Centre for STEM and AI Education introduced the newly completed centre facilities. Prof. Chen presented the centre’s upgraded teaching and research spaces, AI education platforms, and demonstration classrooms, explaining how these resources will support future innovation in technology-enhanced teaching and interdisciplinary projects. Lastly, Prof. Xiufeng LIU, Director of Educational Testing and Assessment Research Centre delivered the centre’s annual report. Prof. Liu summarized the centre’s progress in assessment research, development of testing tools, collaboration with schools, and contributions to large-scale evaluation projects, while also outlining plans for further enhancement in assessment science. 

After the academic reports, each centre engaged in group discussions on the Faculty’s future development. The five centres raised expectations and suggestions regarding research support, cross-centre collaboration, resource allocation, talent development, and internationalization. Staff members proactively exchanged viewpoints, raised questions on research development, teaching arrangements and staff needs, and offered constructive recommendations for strategic planning, generating lively discussion and constructive dialogue. Dean Fan responded to each question and engaged in open and in-depth dialogue with colleagues. He emphasized the Faculty’s commitment to enhancing institutional support, improving administrative systems, and responding to the developmental needs of each centre, with the shared goal of strengthening FED’s long-term achievements in teaching and research.

This retreat provided an invaluable platform for communication, reflection, and collaboration among all members of the Faculty of Education. It not only enhanced internal cohesion but also laid a solid foundation for the Faculty’s strategic development in the years ahead.

為回顧2024/2025學年的主要工作成果,並為新學年的發展做好部署,澳門大學教育學院於2025年12月3日在澳門上葡京綜合度假村舉辦教職員集思會。本次活動匯聚全院教職員參與,旨在透過交流與反思,促進學院整體發展、提升教研質量並強化內外合作。會議上午由教育學院院長兼科技與人工智能教育中心主任范良火教授致開場辭。范院長肯定了全體教職員在過去一年於教學、研究、社會服務與國際合作方面取得的亮眼成果,並對大家的努力表示衷心感謝。他同時展望新學年,希望全體同事能延續專業精神,在跨領域合作、人才培養與科研產出方面持續突破,帶領教育學院邁向更具國際影響力的方向。

隨後,副院長(研究與研究生事務)兼哲學碩士學位課程統籌人周明明教授分享了本年度研究生與博士課程的申請概況。周教授指出,今年的招生競爭尤為激烈,不僅申請人數再創新高,申請者的學術背景與研究潛力亦顯著提升,反映教育學院在區域內外的吸引力不斷增強。接着,副院長(教學與課程發展)兼教育博士學位課程統籌人張東波教授介紹本科課程的最新申請情況。他表示本院本科項目依舊保持穩健增長,未來將持續優化課程架構、深化跨學科元素,並加強與基礎教育改革方向的連結,以全面提升學生的專業能力與職涯競爭力。

助理院長(學校協作與對外關係)黃鏡英教授隨後匯報教育學院與本地學校及教育機構的合作成果。黃教授指出,學院將繼續拓展深度合作機會,特別是在教學實習、專項研究及教師專業發展等面向強化與本地學校的連繫,推動大學與社區教育力量的融合。其後,助理院長(學生事務)兼語言教育中心主任于書林教授介紹本年度學生支援及家社活動的整體情況。他表示,學院將透過更完善的家校社協作模式與多元活動,為學生提供更全面的支援,期望未來能以更具系統性的方式惠及更多學生的身心與學習發展。

上午議程在范院長與教職員的交流問答中圓滿結束,下午的議程由各中心主任依序匯報本年度的學術成果與專業參與。首先,藝術與體育教育中心主任孔兆偉教授分享其在體育教育領域的研究進展與學術活動參與,並回顧多項研究合作及年度發表成果。隨後,教育心理與幼兒教育中心主任周楠教授介紹其在心理教育與幼兒發展領域的年度學術輸出,包括論文發表、專業會議參與及研究項目進展。語言教育中心主任于書林教授接續匯報其在語言教育研究方面的個人成果,分享年度出版、研究發展及其於專業社群中的活動參與。其後,科技與人工智能教育中心助理主任陳孚教授介紹了剛建成投入使用的中心設施,包括教研空間、人工智能教育平台、設備佈局及示範教室等。他向與會同事展示中心在硬件建置、功能規劃與未來運作模式上的整體框架,並說明該中心將如何支援學院在教育科技與人工智能融合方面的教學、研究與培訓工作。最後,教育測驗與評核研究中心主任柳秀峰教授作年度學術總結,回顧其在教育測驗與評核科學領域的研究輸出、合作成果及專業會議參與,並簡述明年的研究方向。

在學術成果匯報後,各中心亦就教育學院未來的發展方向展開深入討論。五個中心分別從各自專業領域出發,就科研支持、跨中心協作、資源配置、人才培養及國際化拓展等方面提出具體期望與建議。老師們積極提問,並就研究發展、教務安排及教師需求等議題與管理層深入交流,分享對學院未來發展的看法,並就規劃與政策提出建設性意見, 場面氣氛熱烈。范院長逐一回應提問,並與同事們進行開放且坦誠的討論。他強調,學院將繼續加強支持、完善制度,並重視各中心的發展需求,以共同推動教育學院在教學與研究上的長遠提升。

本次集思會為教育學院教職員提供了重要的交流平台,不僅促進教研與行政團隊之間的協作,也為學院未來的策略規劃奠定了堅實基礎。
