Logo:

The anniversary logo features the number 45, creatively formed using geometric shapes including a square, triangle, circle, and semicircle. It reflects the traditional Chinese philosophical concept of ‘heaven is round and earth is square’ while also resembling a sailing flag, symbolising UM’s dedication to rigorous, inclusive, and open education. The design captures the anniversary theme, ‘Strive Forward and Achieve Beyond’. It also subtly includes the outline of a human face, highlighting UM’s people-centred educational philosophy and symbolising the unity and determination of UM members as they work together to achieve new milestones.

Slogan: 

The slogan ‘Strive Forward and Achieve Beyond’ reflects the University of Macau’s 45-year journey in education, characterised by a spirit of practicality and unwavering dedication. It also highlights the university’s steadfast commitment to continuous innovation and progress. Looking to the future, UM will continue to prioritise academic research as its foundation, innovation as its driving force, and talent development as its core mission. As UM works to advance the internationalisation of higher education in Macao and contribute to national development, the university will develop together with Macao, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the country to create a new chapter of shared success.
