UM Dragon Boat Team got third prize at

“HIT-Cambridge-Oxford Cup” Ice Dragon Boat International Friendship Race

UM Dragon Boat Team was being invited to participate in the “HIT-Cambridge-Oxford Cup” Ice Dragon Boat International Friendship Race cum China-UK University Youth Forum “哈工大-劍橋-牛津杯”冰上龍舟國際友誼賽暨中英青年文化交流周 organized by Harbin Institute of Technology from 9-12 Jan 2026. The event attracted 14 university teams from C9 League and renowned universities from UK, Hong Kong and Macau, namely

5. Harbin Institute of Technology 哈爾濱工業大學

This is the 1st time for UM Dragon Boat Team to race the Ice Dragon Boat and finally they got the 3rd Prize (三等獎) in the competition. 

Besides, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) organized the “China-UK Youth Forum: Winter Sports and Technological Innovation 中英高校青年論壇:冰雪運動與科技創新” for participants, with 2 Keynote Speeches by Zhang Hong (Winter Olympic Champion, Director of Olympic Center at HIT) and Zhang Yu (Professor, School of Future Technology), as well as interactive workshops where Chinese and British youth to share their insights of Integrating Technological.  These initiatives aim to expand diverse cross-cultural humanities exchanges, create an international youth exchange platform with enduring influence, and enable participants to build friendships and connections.

The activity ends with the Snowball Fight game (雪戰) where 7 participants form a team to battle with the opponents by throwing the snowballs to them, getting into other teams’ area and capture the flag.
