【ELC- ECAC】 “Saint Patrick’s Day Workshop” , 18 March (Wed), 11:00-12:30

【人文學院英語中心-ECAC】"聖派翠克節工作坊" , 3月18日 (三), 11:00-12:30

This St. Patrick’s Day workshop introduces students to Ireland’s national holiday and provides an engaging opportunity to explore Irish culture and its global influence, including its impact on the English language.

Through interactive activities focusing on Irish myths, language, sports, music, and food, students will learn about key cultural symbols such as the Celtic cross, St. Patrick, and the Irish wolfhound. The workshop will also include a brief introduction to traditional Irish names, which are now increasingly common in the UK and US, such as Siobhan, Niamh, Oisin, and Eimear.

To wrap up the session, students will participate in a fun and engaging quiz competition to review and reinforce what they have learned. By the end of the workshop, students will have gained greater familiarity with important aspects of Irish culture and a deeper understanding of features of Irish English.  This workshop will be hosted by the ELC Visiting Instructors Mr. Michael Gilmore and Ms. Miranda Gao.

Celebrate, learn, enjoy the spirit of Ireland and earn smart points!
