On 3 March 2026, a delegation from the Faculty of Education (FED) at the University of Macau (UM) visited The Macao Catholic Schools Association at the Macao Bishop’s House for a first exchange meeting. The delegation included Prof. Lianghuo FAN, Dean and Director of Centre for STEM and AI Education of FED; Prof. Dongbo ZHANG, Associate Dean (Teaching and Curriculum Development) and Programme Coordinator of Doctor of Education; Prof. Keang-ieng VONG, Assistant Dean (School Engagements and External Relations); and Prof. Hok Chio LAI, Deputy Director of Educational Testing and Assessment Research Centre. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the development of local education in Macao, teacher training, and potential exchange opportunities.

During the meeting, Dean Fan provided a detailed overview of FED’s significant achievements in academic research, teacher cultivation, and community service in recent years. He also shared the faculty’s latest development strategies and operational status of the five research centres. Dean Fan emphasized FED’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Macao and its proactive initiatives in cutting-edge fields such as STEM and AI education. Subsequently, Prof. Zhang introduced the faculty’s curriculum structure, highlighting the academic features and professional training objectives of the Doctor of Education (EdD) and various other degree programmes. Next, Prof. Vong and Prof. Lai shared insights on school engagements, external relations, and educational testing and assessment.

This visit not only strengthened the connection between FED and The Macao Catholic Schools Association, but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration in educational resource sharing and professional development between the two parties.
