Description: This book concentrated on the theory of the late Qing Dynasty of Zhang Taiyan. The book focuses on the ideological remarks based on Zhang Taiyan from 1900 to 1911, especially the influence of Zhang Taiyan, when he was in Tokyo, he was the flagship of the People’s Daily in the Qing Dynasty as the revolutionary mentor of the Qing Dynasty, and which he was the banner of the Qing Dynasty’s ideological and cultural movement. The book attempts to show readers the possibility of the “late Qing Dynasty” as a subject of thought and then tries to demonstrate the possibility of reinterpreting China’s modernity. In this sense, it is not only the late Qing ideology based on Zhang Taiyan but also the unique modern Chinese theory that challenges common sense.

摘要：林少陽教授所著本書圍繞章太炎思想的晚清論來開展質疑「革命」與「改良」二元對立的晚清思想史敘述框架，並對中、英、日文半個世紀多以來的研究成果多有綜合、回應。本書試圖透過嶄新的敘述框架，彰顯章太炎及其周邊的歷史位置，以及整個晚清在中國現代性中的歷史定位。借此本書試圖向讀者展示「晚清」作為思想課題的可能，進而試圖展示重釋中國現代性的可能。在此意義上，本書不僅是以章太炎為主的晚清思想論，更是挑戰常識的獨特的近代中國論。
