Dear colleagues and students,

The January 2023 issue is a new start for My UM as the publication has gone fully digital to showcase the latest developments at the university and the remarkable achievements of the UM community through the columns of Feature Story and People’s Stories.

Pursuing one’s dreams starts with a single step, and for many students, that step is an undergraduate education at the University of Macau (UM). This issue of My UM features undergraduate programmes at UM, the university’s ‘4-in-1’ education model, and several new undergraduate programmes introduced in recent years. In the article, several undergraduate students share with us how they take advantage of opportunities available at UM to achieve their full potential in order to become a better version of themselves (Click here to read the article).

Garry Wong, professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM), is the recipient of the UM Teaching Excellence Award for the 2021/2022 academic year. He is known among his students as a tech-savvy teacher that has integrated technology into the classroom. To meet the needs of the new generation of learners, he has set up a studio in his office to create instructional videos. In People’s Stories, Prof Wong shares his stories in teaching with us and how he puts himself in the shoes of his students when designing his courses (Click here to read the article).

2023年1月號起，《澳大人》全面數碼化，通過專題報導和人物故事，全面展現大學的最新發展和澳大人的卓越成就。

每人都有夢想，但如何走近夢想？對於不少澳大學生來說，助其實現夢想的第一步就是澳大的本科教育。「專題報導」詳細介紹了本科課程、「四位一體」教育模式、近年增設的學士學位課程等。在文章裡，數名本科生也分享他們如何利用本科教育的優勢和機遇，成就無限的可能（按此瀏覽文章）。

You are welcome to submit your works to the Communications Office, to be shared on UM’s official social media platforms and the campus broadcasting system UMTV. All students who submitted their works to us will receive 20 UM Competencies Score (CS). Participants whose submissions are published will receive a book token worth up to MOP 50. Students whose submissions are published will receive extra 30 ‘CS’. Submit your works now!
