CCE organised Designated Training Course on Artificial Intelligence for students of Huazhong Agricultural University

CCE organised Designated Training Course on Artificial Intelligence for students of Huazhong Agricultural University during 22nd to 26th September.

The five-day training was intensive and covered topics, such as Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Financial Technology and Blockchain: Applications From Artificial Intelligence, as well as Relationship between Computational Cognitive Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence. Also, the students were led by Public Relations Student Ambassador to visit UM Wu Yee Sun Library and University Gallery. Lastly, the students conducted group presentations, and the trainer provided detailed feedback.  We received positive feedback from students about the training. 

Huazhong Agricultural University is a forerunner of agricultural higher education in China. It is a “Project 211 ” and “Double First-Class” university. It is the second time that the university selected students to participate in the training at UM, following the training held in October 2023.

CCE and FHS offer CPD course for health professionals

CCE and FHS jointly organized a course for “Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training Activity” on 10 August. The course is approved by Conselho dos Profissionais de Saúde. It is “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Future Prospects”. The students are the Macao health professionals, including doctor, medical laboratory technologist, traditional chinese physician, physiotherapist and clinical psychologist.

The 3-hour course is lectured by Prof. Terence Chuen Wai POON from FHS. The course introduces the AI concepts, its application to the medical service and its development. 

The course was conducted in both face-to-face and online teaching via ZOOM. The course had been successfully completed with great recognition and positive feedbacks. The students, who attended the entire course, will be awarded a testimonial jointly issued by CCE and FHS.

Starting from 1 October 2023, the health professionals must obtain the credits required by participating in CPD activity within the license cycle.  The credits obtained in each cycle can only be applied for the immediate renewal or re-issuance for the license.

CCE organized a course of “Emotional Management and Adjustment of Teaching Staff” for Education and Youth Development Bureau

CCE organized a course of “Emotional Management and Adjustment of Teaching Staff” for Education and Youth Development Bureau on 19 July, with a total of 3 hours. Around 30 participants joined this course; they are primary and secondary teachers from different schools in Macao.

Throughout the face-to-face teaching, experience sharing and discussion, the participants knew the causes of job stress and the emotional impacts.  Therefore, the participants strengthened the self-consciousness and self-identification to build up appropriate ways to express the emotions. A positive and optimistic attitude was cultivated to overcome the challenges and self-care measures was established to create the good mental health.

The course has completed successfully with great recognition and positive feedbacks were received from the participants.

CCE and ICMS jointly organized a course for “Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training Activity” on 25 May. The course is approved by Conselho dos Profissionais de Saúde. It is “Formulating a Research Design and Leveraging a Multidisciplinary Approach”. The students are the Macao health professionals, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists and traditional chinese physicians.

The 3-hour course is lectured by professors from ICMS, they are Professor Yuan Jia HU and Assistant Professor Carolina, Oi Lam UNG. The course covers the writing skills and academic publication of the biomedical research proposals and interdisciplinary research on using drugs properly, to enhance the understanding of students in ensuring the quality of the research design and getting key elements carefully,  as well as the ability in designing high-quality research. Also, students realize the importance of multidisciplinary approach to enhance their ability to adopt the approach in practice. 

The course was conducted in online teaching via ZOOM. The course had been successfully completed with great recognition and positive feedbacks. The students, who attended the entire course, will be awarded a testimonial jointly issued by CCE and ICMS.

The 3-hour course is lectured by professors from ICMS, they are Assistant Director Prof. Ying BIAN and Prof. Ying ZHENG. The course introduces health systems and policy analysis that students know the key steps to improve analytical skills from the results. Also, students learn application of medical statistics.

In order to meet the working schedule of the health professionals, the course was conducted in both face-to-face and online teaching. The course had been successfully completed with great recognition and positive feedbacks. The students, who attended the entire course, will be awarded a testimonial jointly issued by CCE and ICMS.

The students are the Macao health professionals, including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and medical laboratory technologists.

The 3-hour course is lectured by professors from ICMS, they are Assistant Director Prof. Xiuping CHEN and Prof. Hao HU. The course introduces evidence base of medical treatment and the relationship between clinical studies and real-word studies. After completing the course, the students enhance the understanding of key steps of clinical studies to improve analytical skills in qualitity and limitation of clinical research. Also, the students strengthen the understanding of data collection and latest development of evidence base in the real world, so as to improve the ability in evaluating the real-world research.

In order to meet the working schedule of the health professionals, the course was conducted in both face-to-face and online teaching. The 3-hour course is lectured by professors from ICMS, they are Deputy Director Prof. Jia Hong LU and Adjunct Chair Professor Prof. Simon, Ming-Yuen LEE. The course contents include New Drug Discoveries, as well as Pharmacology and Toxicology Studies. They enhance students’ understanding of key steps in new drug discovery, as well as of the therapeutic effects and targets of concerned drugs. Also, they improve students’ ability of design and result analysis in pharmacology and toxicology research.

CCE organized a course of “Parent-teacher Collaboration between Home and School” for Education and Youth Development Bureau

CCE organized a course of “Parent-teacher Collaboration between Home and School” for Education and Youth Development Bureau from 4th to 14th March, with a total of 12 hours. More than 10 participants joined in this course; they are teachers from many schools in Macao.

The course combined with theories and case studies. The participants learnt communication skills and elements of assistance to parents. Thus, teachers and parents become good partners and a high-quality relationship is built. Students are provided comprehensive supports on their learning and development.

The course has completed successfully with great recognition and positive feedbacks were received from the participants.

CCE organized “Course on Procurement Law for Macao Government” for Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited

CCE organised a 40-hour “Course on Procurement Law for Macao Government” for Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited from October to December.

The course content was rich with theories and examples that the participants can easily understand the basic concepts and theories of government procurement. The participants are equipped to have comprehensive and better knowledge; thus, they can improve execution and problem solving skills, as well as increase work efficiency.

The course had been successfully completed with great recognition and positive feedbacks. The participants, who reached 80% of the whole course and passed the examination, will receive a certificate from CCE.

CCE and FHS jointly organized and launched a course of 2-hour “Stem Cells: the Seeds of Life, Health, and Beauty” on 10 December. The students are the health professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, dentists and occupational therapists. The course was approved by Conselho dos Profissionais de Saúde.

The course was taught by Prof. Ren-He XU, who is Associate Dean and Distinguished Professor of FHS. After the course, the students knew basic knowledge of stem cells, research milestones, current challenges, ethical issues and clinical application prospects. In order to meet the working schedule of the health professionals, the course was conducted in both face-to-face and online teaching. The course had been successfully completed with great recognition and positive feedbacks. The students, who attended the entire course, will be awarded a testimonial jointly issued by CCE and FHS.

Starting from 1 October 2023, the health professionals must obtain the credits required by participating in CPD activity within the license cycle.  The credits obtained in each cycle can only be applied for the immediate renewal or re-issuance for the license. During the transition period, the credits obtained from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2023 can be included in the immediate license cycle.
