【ELC Invitation】 Fall 2023 EWCC Guest Talk Series “Beyond Words”

Dear students,

Do you sometimes find yourself having difficulties in understanding English lectures or your English-speaking professors? Eager to improve your listening accuracy? The English Writing and Communication Centre (EWCC) is going to hold a series of ONLINE GUEST TALKS next week for three consecutive days (17/18/19 October)! Students who have attended and participated will receive 1.5 Smart points and 15 CS points in each workshop,  and those who have attended all 3 workshops will receive a certificate of completion from the ELC!

The above guest talks focus on effective listening in different contexts. I believe that you will benefit from our honored guests. Do not hesitate to sign up for the event and be a good listener!

Fall 2023 ELC i-Learner English for Universities Marathon contest

親愛的同學們，

準備好了嗎？本學期的i-Learner English for Universities 英語馬拉松比賽即將開始，時間從9月27日到11月27日。

 

你的任務：盡你所能完成最多的課節，並獲得70％或以上的分數。最優秀的學生將獲得1000澳門元的書券和超市禮券，而每個級別的前三名學生將分別獲得500-100澳門元的禮券。

如果寫作是你的強項，通過提交第24課的寫作內容，有機會贏得300澳門元的禮券。

所有獲獎者將獲得ELC頒發的優秀證書。

將學習變成日常習慣, 在這場馬拉松比賽中，除了提高英語水平，還將增強你的批判性思維和溝通能力，同時探索各種主題。

Fall 2023 ELC i-Learner English for Universities Marathon Contest

Dear students,

 

Get ready for an exciting learning journey with i-Learner’s English for Universities Marathon Contest this semester, running from Sept 27 to Nov 27.

 

Your mission: Complete as many lessons as you can with a 70% or higher score. Prizes include 1000 MOP in book and supermarket coupons for the top student, and 500 to 100 MOP coupons for the top 3 students in each level.

 

If writing is your strength, submit your writing in Lesson 24 for a chance to win 300 MOP coupons.

 

All winners will receive a certificate of distinction from ELC.

 

Make learning a daily habit , enhance your English, critical thinking, and communication skills while exploring a wide range of topics.

Recruitment of Student Trainees for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (Application Deadline: 27/01/2023)

Dear Students,

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is now recruiting student trainee(s) for assisting in general administrative tasks with below details.  All UM students are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in general counter service and handling documentation;
  • Perform simple data inputting and analyses;
  • Manage facilities and stock;
  • Provide other administrative supports as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Year 1 or 2 undergraduate students are preferable;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin is an advantage;
  • Students with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro are preferable;
  • Strong sense of responsibility and positive working attitudes.
Working Time: Monday to Friday (at least 9 hours weekly)
Hourly Rate: MOP 48 per hour
Working Location: General Office, Faculty of Arts and Humanities (E21A, 4th Floor)
