CCE organized a training course on Study Tour for Elite Talents in the Greater Bay Area for students from mainland higher education institutions
From January 19 to 26, The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), in collaboration with the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong (HKU SPACE), organized a short-term training program on Study Tour for Elite Talents in the Greater Bay Area. A total of 67 students participated in the program, mainly from Minzu University of China, others are from Jiangsu Normal University KeWen College, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, etc.
The 7-day training program featured a series of specialized lectures, all delivered in English, with rich and diverse content. The program began with students attending four thematic lectures in Hong Kong, covering topics such as “Big Data and Business Intelligence”, “Cultural and Artistic Communication”, “University Education and Community Engagement”, and “Technological Innovation”. Afterward, the students traveled to the University of Macau, where they participated in lectures on “Introduction to Macao’s economy and development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area” and “Applied linguistics development and globalization”. The program also included group presentations, allowing students to showcase their learning outcomes.
Besides the lectures, the participants visited Currency Museum and Mock Casino in FBA. These visits provided them with insights into Macao’s monetary history and its leading industries. At the closing ceremony, several supervising teachers shared their thoughts, emphasizing that through this training program, the students experienced the high-quality and distinctive educational offerings of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as the immense charm of the region’s two “pearl” cities—Hong Kong and Macao. They remarked on the rich rewards the students gained from this experience and expressed hopes for more opportunities for exchange and collaboration in the future.
This training program marks another successful collaboration between UM CCE and HKU SPACE. Through cross-city academic exchanges, the program continues to promote the development of new models of continuing education cooperation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
