Explore Your Interests and Goals:

  • Choose a major that aligns with your career aspirations and has versatility across different fields.
  • Select classes that are both interesting and relevant to your desired postgraduate programme.
  • Take upper-division classes that satisfy undergraduate requirements while supporting your further study goals.

Build a Strong Academic Foundation:

The Career Development Centre of the Student Affairs Office, in collaboration with the American Universities in China Association (AUCA), will co-host the “AUCA Spring 2024 Graduate Recruitment Tour – University of Macau”. For students with less outstanding academic records, there are several strategies they can employ to improve their chances of being admitted to postgraduate programmes at top universities:

Showcase Strong Non-Academic Achievements

While academic performance is essential, universities also value candidates with a diverse skill set and well-rounded experiences. Students can highlight their achievements in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, community service, internships, or relevant work experience. Demonstrating a passion for their chosen field and a commitment to personal growth can make them stand out as exceptional candidates.

 

Obtain Strong Recommendation Letters

Strong letters of recommendation from professors, mentors, or employers can have a significant impact on the application. Students should seek recommendations from individuals who can speak to their potential, work ethic, and character. These letters should provide valuable insights into the student’s abilities and potential for success in the postgraduate programme.

 

Score Well on Standardized Tests

This workshop aims to help participants get initially equipped for an active self-constructed career. Through various activities and a practical occupational assessment, participants can further explore and understand:
