CCE organised a Designated Training Course on Medicine and Health Sciences for the second batch students from University of South China

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a 3-month Designated Training Course on Medicine and Health Sciences for the second batch students from University of South China, the training course is combined with offline and online training. The offline training is conducted from 5th to 9th August.

During the five-day offline training, the students attended various professional lectures, topics include Neuroscience And Neurodegenerative Diseases, Autophagy Lysosome Pathway in Cancers and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Wonders in life science and health: Biomedical science, and Comparison of Chinese medicine and Western. The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library, UM Gallery, and a residential college. Outside UM, the students visited the Kiang Wu Hospital. Many of the students say they are impressed with the international teaching quality at UM and are willing to come back to UM for further studies.

CCE continues to develop training programmes with quality mainland universities to promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in Mainland China.

CCE collaborated with HKU SPACE to organize a Designated Training Programme for Medical and Life Sciences for students from several mainland higher education institutions

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), organized a Designated Training Programme for Medical and Life Sciences from Jul 30 to Aug 9 for students of several mainland higher education institutions.

The 2-week training programme consisted of a series of special lectures, with a rich curriculum taught entirely in English. Participants first attended five lectures in HK delivered by experts. Then they came to UM to attend three more lectures given by instructors of Faculty of Health Science (FHS) and Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS). The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library and UM Gallery. They also visited Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. The student expressed that the training was highly beneficial. The programme enriched their personal experiences and broadened their perspectives, and they hoped to have the opportunity to return to the University of Macau for future studies.

To strengthen cooperation between mainland key national universities and UM, CCE is continuing to provide high quality training programmes in the future.

CCE collaborated with HKU SPACE to organize a Designated Training Programme for Cross-cultural Communication for students of Hunan Normal University

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), organized a Designated Training Programme for Cross-cultural Communication from Aug 2 to 5 for students of Hunan Normal University.

The 4-day training program consisted of a series of special lectures, with a rich curriculum taught entirely in English. Participants first attended lectures in HK  delivered by experts. Then they came to UM to attend two more lectures given by instructors of Faculty of Social Science (FSS). The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library, UM Gallery, and Cheng Yu Tung College. The student expressed that the training was highly beneficial. The program enriched their personal experiences and broadened their perspectives, and they hoped to have the opportunity to return to the University of Macau for future studies.

Hunan Normal University is located in Changsha, Hunan Province. It has been selected into the first batch of national “211 Project” key construction universities and national “Double First-Class” construction universities. It is a key ministry-provincial jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Province. It is one of the universities to build “double first-class” construction.

To strengthen cooperation between mainland key national universities and UM, CCE is continuing to provide high quality training programmes in the future.

The offline training is conducted from 29th July to 2nd August.

During the five-day offline training, the students attended various professional lectures, topics include Genetic and Biometrics: Introduction of Foundation and Frontier, Autophagy Lysosome Pathway in Cancers and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Precision Medicine and Big Data: Revolution and Opportunity, and Comparison of Chinese medicine and Western. The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library, UM Gallery, and a residential college. Outside UM, the students visited the Kiang Wu Hospital. Many of the students say they are impressed with the international teaching quality at UM and are willing to come back to UM for further studies.

CCE organized the opening ceremony and training for students of Nanjing University – Jiangsu, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Science and Technology Innovation Camp of Improving and Creating Future with Wisdom

On 17 July, CCE held the opening ceremony and first training station for Nanjing University, “Jiangsu, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Science and Technology Innovation Camp of Improving and Creating Future with Wisdom”. The opening ceremony invited representatives from DSEDJ, Xinhua News Agency Macao Special Administrative Region Branch, University of Macau and Nanjing University. In the opening, Prof. Matthew Ting-Chi LIU, Director of CCE, thank you for the support of Nanjing University, and also welcome teachers and students from Nanjing University to continue to come to UM for exchange and training visits in the future.

As the first stop of Camp, participants have rich and compact arrangements, including two special lectures covering artificial intelligence and smart cities and big data and management. In addition, the participants also visited and exchanged with the Center for Regional Oceans and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. After completing the training at UM, the team will go to the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and different universities in Suzhou for training and exchanges.

Nanjing University is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is a research-oriented national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and directly under the central government at the deputy ministerial level. It is a national double first-class, 985 Project, and 211 Project construction university. It is jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province. It ranks 145th in the latest QS World University Rankings and 73rd in the THE World University Rankings.

The Center for Continuing Education of the University of Macau continues to launch more high-quality training projects to promote exchanges and cooperation between outstanding mainland universities and UM.

CCE organises a Designated Training Course on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity for students of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organised a Designated Training Course on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity for students of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai.

During the eleven-day training course, the students attended various professional lectures, topics include Innovation Management and Crisis Management for Leaders, Technological innovation empowers art design and aesthetics, Technological innovation empowers art design and aesthetics and Cross-cultural new media and advertising marketing. The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library and UM Gallery.  During the off-campus visits, students visited MGM Cotai and The Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre. Many of the students say they are impressed with the international teaching quality at UM, adding that they would like come back to UM for further studies.

A delegation from the School of Continuing Education of Sut Yat-Sen University met with Director of CCE for discussion on training cooperation

A delegation from the School of Continuing Education of Sut Yat-Sen University visited University of Macau (UM) on June 24, 2024, met with Director of Centre for Continuing Education from UM (CCE) to discuss high-quality educational cooperation projects.

The two parties had communicated on cooperation in various aspects, including training and inter-school cooperation. Both parties hope to strengthen cooperation, promote mutual understanding and exchanges between the two schools and the Greater Bay Area partners, and make use of the advantages of the two places. After the meeting, the guests also visited the University Library and University Hall.

During the five-day offline training course, the students attended various professional lectures, topics include Applied linguistics development and globalization, Technological innovation empowers art design and aesthetics and Cross-cultural new media and advertising marketing. The students also visited different units of UM, including the UM Wu Yee Sun Library and UM Gallery. Many of the students say they are impressed with the international teaching quality at UM, adding that they would like come back to UM for further studies.
