Dear students,

Time is flying, and November is here! As the semester wraps up with exams, the EWCC invites you to our Exam Revision Technique Chatroom on 12 November 2024. This event is crafted for university students looking to enhance their study sessions and ace their exams.

This interactive space offers a range of activities to support your learning journey. You can engage in Q&A sessions to clarify doubts and gain insights from peers and instructors. You’ll join topic discussions on different study techniques, and you’ll find out which one suits you best in your revision plan.

Beyond academic topics, this event also includes access to a shared library of study materials and resources, with the option to contribute your own. You can learn about tips and strategies in managing time and workload. Also, you’ll participate in stress-relief activities, focused on relaxation and mindfulness, which will help you manage your exam anxiety.

This event aims to create a vibrant and supportive learning environment, empowering you to connect with your peers, refine your revision techniques, and tackle exams with confidence. No registration is needed—just join us for a communicative and enriching afternoon!

See? We are ready to apply for a job!

This workshop aims to help students have a better understanding of different points to include in their CV.  You will also learn how to effectively structure the CV for a better chance of success in getting the attention of employers.

Come  with your friends and find out more ways and different points you can share in your own CV and prepare a draft for future use while you earn smart points!

Remember to bring your laptop or iPad with you so you can work on your CV!

FAH-ELC ECAC Student Activity: “Pechakucha Presentation Workshop”

Pechakucha is a unique presentation style known for using images rather than text.  It is typically brief consisting of 20 slides displayed for only 20 seconds.

In this workshop, students will be given the opportunity to present their ideas on a chosen topic in the Pechakucha style. With the use of powerful images, students will present their ideas in a timed manner encouraging them to speak spontaneously and fluently. Through this practice, students will experience the importance of conciseness, confidence, and good preparation.

This workshop is hosted by Dr. Jean-Paul Duquette, ELC Senior Instructor.

Come with your friends and learn while you earn smart points!

Remember to bring a device to work on your PPT.

As part of their academic project, they will be presenting a topic of interest to the larger community through an informative poster board. Please come and support them from 16:00 – 17:30 on March 14th (Thursday) and 13:00-16:00 on  March 15th (Friday).

Feel free to interact with the students about their posters.

FAH-ELC Student Activity: 2023 Pay-It-Forward Presentations

Dear UM students/staff,

We are students from EELC2010-Project-based Academic English course, and we would like invite you to attend our presentations on March 7 (Tue)/ March 8 (Wed), 2023. In the past two months, we have been developing solutions to problems that we observed in Macau/UM. We have written a proposal, and next week we will give a presentation to talk about our ideas.

We are now calling for your help! Our presentations are open to all UM members, and you will get to vote for the proposals you like. The winning proposals will win a grant from the ELC/FAH to implement their projects! Students who fully participate in each 75-minute presentation session can receive 1 Smart Point and 15 CS points.
