Deep clean your resume

深度清理你的履歷

You get rid of unwanted items in your home; you might also treat yourself to a deep cleansing mask every week. Why not do the same with your resume as well?

  • A resume is not the story of your life. There is no need to include everything you have done in the past. Remember, only relevant experience that demonstrates your skills for the position you are applying for should stay on your resume.
  • Simple formatting is key. A well-organized resume is like a well-groomed person, you are more likely to interact with them; the same rule applies to your resume. Keep it simple but unique to stand out.
  • Recruiters review tons of resumes every day and you need to make your accomplishments stand out with compelling language. Tell your unique story with strong action verbs and vocabulary.

Remember, grammar mistakes are like acne, if you don’t want acne on your face, why should these mistakes stay on your resume?

It is all too easy to neglect some of the most informative resources around you, because you may be too familiar with them. But they will come in handy if you know how to use them.

  • Visit recruitment websites frequently. It is important to keep up to date with what’s going on in the job market;
  • Keep an eye on the career training resources around you. Whether it is revising your resume or helping you prepare for an interview, a well-prepared candidate always has a bigger chance of getting the job;
  • Alumni and your senior fellow students are your connection to the real world. They may be able to tell you about the latest developments in their field, or share some of their job-hunting experiences.

2. 若遲到或早退少於10分鐘將獲得半粒至叻星。
3. 若遲到或早退超過10分鐘將不能獲得至叻星。
4. 於活動期間離場超過15分鐘將不能獲得至叻星。
5. 請進場及/或離場時出示學生證登記。
6. 若不尊重活動場合或不遵守工作人員的指示，學生事務部有權取消獲取至叻星的資格，並保留至叻星計劃的解釋權及決定權。

Important notice:
For participants who have registered and attended the lecture, Smart Point / CS will be given. 
Please observe the following guidelines of Smart Point scheme:

  1. Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given one Smart Point, 20 “Global competitiveness” (CS).
  2. Students who arrive late or leave early within 10 minutes will be given only half a Smart Point.
  3. Students who arrive late or leave early over 10 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point.
  4. Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 15 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point.
  5. Students are required to check in/out of the activity with their valid Student ID Card.
  6. For those who do not respect the activity or ignore the staff’s guidance, Student Affairs Office (SAO) reserves the right to cancel his/her Smart Point. SAO also reserves the right to interpret and process the Smart Point scheme.
