The inauguration ceremony for the PGH House Tutors (HTs) for the academic year 2023/2024 was successfully held on November 3, 2023. The distinguished guests who attended the ceremony included the Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Wong Pak Kin from the Faculty of Science and Technology; Professor Zhang Xuan Jun, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; Professor Jacky Hong Fok Loi, Head of the Department of Management and Marketing from the Faculty of Business Administration; Professor Hu Yuan Jia, Director of Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, University of Macau, from the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences; Associate Professor Chan Ging from the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences; Assistant Professor Chan Kin Sun, Programme Coordinator of Master of Social Sciences in Public Administration from the Faculty of Social Sciences; Associate Professor Ng Kar Wei from the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering; Mr. Paul Pang, Dean of Students; Ms. Anita Chau, Head of Student Resources Section; and Mr. Eric Ng, Functional Head of Student Housing.

A total of 14 Fellows from different faculties served as mentors for PGH this year, providing guidance to the residents of PGH. During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Paul Pang, Dean of Students, introduced the definition and responsibilities of the PGH HTs, and presented real life fraud cases in Macau to remind students to be vigilant against online scams. He encouraged HTs to understand Macau’s laws and work together to establish a harmonious and safe learning and living environment. The Student Affairs Office will continue to make efforts to create a comfortable accommodation environment and academic atmosphere for students, hoping that with the assistance of the Fellows, Postgraduate students can better adapt to their academic lives and make greater contributions to the academic community and society. Subsequently, under the supervision of Professor Wong Pak Kin, representing the fellows, and Mr. Paul Pang, representing the Student Affairs Office, all the PGH HTs took a simple and solemn oath, led by Ph.D. student Dai Yongde from the Faculty of Humanities.

Each PGH building currently has a professional team of HTs who provide assistance and support residents in their daily dormitory lives, regardless of office hours. In the future, the PGH HTs will continue to closely collaborate with the Student Resources Section, growing together with the residents and creating a better accommodation experience.
