“UMSB goes Jazz” concert, which was held on 17 November 2023 last Friday, was a resounding success that left the audience in awe. The N2-University Hall was filled with around 600 audience. The concert showcased a mesmerizing fusion of traditional jazz elements with the unique style of the University Music Symphonic Band (UMSB). The audience was captivated by the soulful melodies and improvisations that echoed throughout the hall. The band’s exceptional performance, coupled with the vibrant energy of the audience, created an unforgettable experience.

Under the skilled guidance of conductor Mr. Ng Sa, the UMSB delivered a flawless performance that left the audience yearning for more. Mr. Ng Sa’s ability to connect with the audience was evident as cheers and applause filled the hall after each piece. His infectious passion for jazz resonated with both the band members and the audience. The concert also featured guest players who added an extra layer of brilliance to the already outstanding performance. They were Mr. Lam Chak Seng on the Alto Saxophone, Mr. Ivan Pineda on the electric bass, and Mr. Sam Ka Lon on the Tuba.

As the concert reached its climax, the audience could not contain their enthusiasm and screamed for encores. The UMSB and the guest players graciously obliged, treating the audience to additional captivating performances that left everyone on their feet.
