Cancer strikes fear into the hearts of many, and so does venom. Yet, when these two formidable forces collide, unexpected chemistry may occur. Professor Henry Kwok Hang Fai, head of the Department of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at UM, is a pioneering scholar who embodies the principle of ‘fighting fire with fire’—or in this case, ‘combating cancer with animal venom’.
