Cheerleading Training Camp (Coaching and Judging Course) was held successfully held
The “Cheerleading Training Camp (Coaching and Judging Course)” was successfully held from 2-6 April, organized by the Office of Sports Affairs (OSA). The training featured certified instructors from the China Cheerleading Association (CCA), championship-level coaches, and international-level judges, who provided professional guidance on cheerleading techniques, coaching methodologies, and competition judging standards.
The event was honored to welcome Mr. Danny Yen, the Life Honorary Chairman of the Cheerleading Federation of Hong Kong, China, as a special observer and advisor. A total of 28 participants took part in the activity, including UM Cheerleading Team coaches and members, RC Cheerleading Team coaches and alumni.
All participants who completed the course and passed the assessment were awarded an official certified training certificate. The activity not only enhanced the participants’ skills but also contributed to the development of cheerleading in Macau.
Course Highlights:
Cheerleading Judge Training
- Instructors explained the latest cheerleading competition rules and scoring criteria
- Analyzed international competition videos to deeply understand key scoring points
- Participants conducted simulated scoring exercises, with instructors providing immediate feedback to improve judgment accuracy
Cheerleading Coach Training
- Scientific training methods: including dynamic warm-up design and specialized stretching techniques
- Safety guidelines: proper equipment usage and protective techniques, emphasizing injury prevention
- Risk management: Coaches shared emergency procedures for common competition incidents.
- Experience sharing: coaches share team management experiences by using real case studies
