Safety Tips and Follow-up of the Drinking Water in Campus
澳大校園飲用水的跟進情況及安全建議
親愛的同事及同學們：
就有關「米瑞安集團有限公司」供應的「澳純」18.9公升蒸餾水被市政署檢測有銅綠假單胞菌及大腸菌群一事，雖然該批次產品暫未供應至各公共部門，但為消除澳大人對飲用水安全及存在的風險的擔憂，保安及設施服務處已於上週五開始到每棟大樓的茶水間收回所有桶裝飲用水，並啟動為全校茶水間內蒸餾水機進行消毒工作安排，現正採購消毒服務中。完成消毒後會在茶水間門上張貼通告作出通知，以及恢復定期補充桶裝水。
另外，校園內設有多部飲水機，如有需要可到這些飲水機取水飲用，有關飲水機的位置可參閱此連結。
最後提提大家，銅綠假單胞菌及大腸菌群在高溫的環境下活性會減低；將水煮沸(攝氏100度) 1分鐘即可完全滅活這些細菌。大家可考慮喝熱水，或待該熱水降至適當的溫度後再飲用。

Dear colleagues and students,
Regarding the incident that Pseudomonas aeruginosa and coliform bacteria were detected by Municipal Affairs Bureau in the distilled water supplied by Miriam Group Limited, although the batch was not delivered to public entites, Security and Facilities Services Section (CMDO-SFS) has been collecting all barreled drinking water from pantries in each building since last Friday in order to eliminate UM members’ concerns about the safety and the potential risk of drinking water. Besides, SFS has started arranging disinfection service of distilled water machines in all pantries in campus. Disinfection service is being procured. Notices will be posted on the doors of pantries to inform users. Regular replenishment of barreled water will be resumed once disinfection is completed.
On the other hand, there are many water fountains in campus. If you need to drink water, please feel free to take water from the fountains. Here is the locations of water fountains.
Lastly, it is worth noting that the activity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and coliform bacteria is reduced in high temperature environment. When water is boiled (100 ℃) for 1 minute, these bacteria will be killed. You may consider to drink boiled water, or enjoy it when it is cooled down to a comfortable temperature.
