CCE organised a training course on Chemical Engineering and Emerging Materials for students of The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University
The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held a training course on Chemical Engineering and Emerging Materials for students of The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University from June 23 to 27. Total 15 second-year students attended the course.
The five-day training class was intensive and covered a wide range of topics. All the lectures were given by professors from IAPME. The topics included “Organic and Polymer Chemistry”, “Material Development for Next-Generation Batteries and Hydrogen Energy Systems”, “Properties of Gases (including Condensed Matter and the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution…)”, “Physics and Chemistry of Materials” and “The Mysteries of Chemistry”. In addition to classroom teaching, the training class also organized visits to both on-campus and off-campus sites. The students visited IAPME labs, UM library, UM Gallery and RC. They also visited the Macau Civil Engineering Laboratory and the Macau Cross-Border Industrial Zone Sewage Treatment Station. During the group presentation session, the students gave detailed reports on what they had learned over the past few days and made short videos to record the wonderful moments of their study tour in Macau. Several student representatives spoke at the closing ceremony, stating that the training had not only given them a better understanding of Macau and UM but also provided new insights into the future development of their own majors. The course received unanimous praise.
Starting from 2024, Northwestern Polytechnical University has repeatedly selected outstanding students to participate in short-term training at UM. CCE continues to develop more high-quality training programs to promote exchanges and cooperation between outstanding mainland universities and UM.
