Delegation from Exit and Entry Administration of PRC visits UM
A delegation led by Qiu Yanming, second-level inspector of the Department of Chinese Citizens Exit and Entry Administration, Exit and Entry Administration of the People’s Republic of China, visited the University of Macau (UM) on 6 August and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector of UM. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including exit and entry administration between Macao and the Chinese mainland, as well as the cross-border movement of students and faculty.
The delegation was accompanied by Ng Sou Peng, deputy commissioner of Public Security Police Force of the Macao SAR government, during the visit. Song said that in line with Macao’s strategic positioning of ‘one centre, one platform, and one base’ set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan, UM is committed to seeking development, integrating itself into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, developing the Greater Bay Area into a hub for education and talent, as well as nurturing talent with affection for home country and a global mindset. He expressed hope that, through the visit, the delegation will generate new ideas for optimising exit and entry policies and enhancing the cross-border movement of UM students and faculty, thereby enabling the university to play a greater role in national and regional development.
The delegation visited the University Gallery and the Wu Yee Sun Library. They were impressed by the university’s efforts to promote cross-border education and research, and optimise services for the cross-border movement of its students and faculty.
