MCM College: New Student Orientation Series – “The Invisible Self” Short Film Screening
滿珍紀念書院:迎新系列活動 - 《白夜》微電影放映會
On the morning of 20th August 20, 2025, Moon Chun Memorial College, University of Macau hosted a screening of the short film The Invisible Self in the college hall, drawing over a hundred freshmen. The aim is to guide students adapting to university life through visual storytelling and interactive dialogue, while offering diverse support resources available on campus.
The event opened with remarks from Associate Master Dr. Manuel Noronha, who encouraged freshers to bravely embrace change and actively seek their personal direction. The Invisible Self follows the journey of a fresher who navigates confusion, exploration, and growth in an unfamiliar environment. This resonated deeply with the audience. Prior to the screening, College Fellow, Alice Hong introduced the film’s production background and theme, helping viewers immerse themselves in the story.
Post-screening group discussions generated student reflections, while social worker, Yan Leong delved into the film’s narrative to guide students in developing skills and wisdom for adapting to university life. Senior students, Celina Wang and Summer Ho were also invited to share their personal growth experiences and respond to questions from the freshmen, offering valuable advice and encouragement.
Throughout the event, representatives from Pastoral Care Support Unit and Academic Support Unit introduced various college support services, including Mental Health Awareness Month, Career Planning RC Academic Tutorial (RCAT) Certificate Programme, MC2 Buddy Programme, and Student Counseling Services—ensuring comprehensive support for students both academically and personally.
To conclude this inspiring and connective event, all staff and students gathered for a group photo, marking a meaningful end to the screening session.

活動由副院長Dr. Manuel Noronha致開場詞,他鼓勵新生勇敢面對轉變,積極尋找自我定位。微電影《白夜》以一位大學新生的視角出發,呈現其在陌生環境中經歷迷惘、探索與成長的心路歷程,引起現場觀眾廣泛共鳴。書院導師洪盈惠於放映前介紹影片的創作背景與主題,讓觀眾更易投入情境。放映結束後,學生在小組討論中反思,而社工梁佩欣則深入探討影片情節,引導學生掌握適應大學生活的技能與智慧。座談會亦邀請學姐王楚月及何曉嵐分享個人成長經歷,並即場回應新生提問,提供寶貴建議與鼓勵。
活動期間,牧關舍及十駕齋的代表亦介紹書院內多項支援服務,包括心理健康推廣月、生涯規劃書院學術輔導計劃證書課程、學伴計劃及學生輔導服務等,協助新生在學業與生活層面上獲得全面支援。活動最後,所有師生齊聚一堂,合影留念,為這場充滿啟發與連結的放映會劃下圓滿句號。
