目前,大學的互聯網總頻寬為 18 Gbps,有效地支援學術及行政工作的需求。大多數使用者透過兩家本地互聯網服務供應商(ISP)連接網路,每家提供不同的連線路徑,以確保網路的備援性與穩定性。

為了優化頻寬使用,資訊及通訊科技部已部署一套互聯網接入管理系統,並依循以下原則進行管理:

  • 學術優先:優先保障教學、研究及行政活動的網路需求
  • 合理使用:根據實際需求分配頻寬資源
  • 分層管理:依據不同類型的網路應用採取差異化的管理策略
  • 資源優化:透過技術與管理措施提升頻寬使用效率

為了更好地滿足研究目的需要下載大容量檔案的需求,資訊及通訊科技部於E6學習共享空間及資訊互動角(E5-2084 資訊及通訊科技部服務中心外)設立了一個高速網路。相關區域提供更快速、穩定的網路連接,供下載大容量的檔案,以提升網路體驗。

「校園網路效能測試及回饋平台」https://speedtest.icto.um.edu.mo專為用戶而設計,用於提供遇到網路問題時進行速度測試並提交測試結果。

At present, the University maintains a total Internet bandwidth of 18 Gbps, supporting the needs of academic and administrative operations. Most users access the Internet via two local Internet service providers (ISPs), each offering distinct paths to ensure redundancy and reliability.

To optimize bandwidth usage, ICTO has introduced an Internet Access Management System guided by the following principles:

  • Academic Priority: Teaching, research, and administrative activities are prioritized.
  • Fair Usage: Bandwidth is allocated based on essential needs.
  • Tiered Management: Network applications are managed with differentiated strategies.
  • Resource Optimization: Technology and management practices maximize bandwidth efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: Network safety and legal compliance are ensured.

In order to better facilitate the demands for downloading large data files for research purpose, ICTO setup high speed network at E6 Learning Commons and IT Corner (E5-2084, Outside ICTO Help Desk). The areas provide a faster and more stable network connection for downloading large files to improve network usage experience.

“Campus Network Performance Test And Feedback Platform” (https://speedtest.icto.um.edu.mo) is designed for users to conduct speed test and submit test results when encountering network issue on campus.
