MCM College Anthem – A Symphony that embodies Creativity and Heartfelt Voices
滿珍紀念書院院歌──凝聚創意與心聲的樂章
On 30 September 2025, the MCM College community gathered and launched the long-awaited premiere of its College Anthem and music video — a project years in the making, shaped by creativity, collaboration, and shared vision. More than a song, the anthem embodies the voice and soul of MCMC.
The evening was led by Resident Fellow Dr Peggy Lau, who guided the audience through the anthem’s story from its earliest beginnings.
When MCMC was founded in 2013, everything began from the ground up. Not only the facilities, but also the culture and values were carefully built step by step. In 2020, encouraged by then College Master Professor Kevin Thompson, Dr Lau began drafting the anthem’s lyrics. The challenge was to express the spirit of the College in just a few verses — its unity, identity, and enduring warmth. When Professor Kwok Cheung Cheung succeeded as College Master, his words of encouragement renewed her resolve. After countless rounds of rewriting and consultation, the English lyrics finally took shape.
To engage the wider community, Dr Lau worked with Resident Tutor Benson Lin and Dom Pedro V House to launch the College Anthem Composition Competition, with the support of Non‑Resident Fellows Professor Katrine Wong, Professor Katy Ho Weatherly, and Dr Henry Yip. The winning piece was composed by alumna Jessica Lei.
Jessica described how she built the anthem around a musical motif derived in the key of F, and transcribing the letters of Moon Chun as “F-A-A-G C-Bb-A-G.” “My goal,” she said, “was to create a piece that feels like it was always meant to be ours — a melody that instantly brings us back home to MCMC.”
With the composition complete, Benson led a student‑driven team to produce the anthem’s music video. Nearly forty students took part as actors, crew, and vocalists, guided by alumnus Jason Cheang, who shared film and storytelling techniques. The video traces a student’s journey from arrival to graduation — a celebration of campus life, friendship, and diversity.
Cathy Ouyang, the video’s editor, merged the footage into an emotional, cohesive narrative. “It wasn’t just about arranging clips,” she said. “It was about telling our collective story.”
Finally, the anthem premiered with a live performance by the MCMC Macalla Vocal Group, led by Benson Lin and Daisy Deng. As the performance came to an end, Dr Lau thanked everyone who contributed, reassuring the effort and engagement of the community.

The MCM College Anthem now stands as a lasting symbol of unity, creativity, and pride — the living heartbeat of the MCMC community for generations to come.
2025 年 9 月 30 日，滿珍紀念書院師生齊聚一堂，共同見證期待已久的書院院歌及其音樂影片首映。這項歷時多年的計畫，凝聚了滿珍人的創造力、團隊精神與共同願景。它早已超越歌曲本身的意義——它象徵著書院的靈魂與文化。
活動由負責項目的駐院導師 劉沛棋博士主持，她帶領觀眾回顧院歌從構思到誕生的整個歷程。
滿珍紀念書院自 2013 年創立以來，一切由零開始。除了硬件設施不斷完善，書院的文化與價值亦在歲月中精心塑造。2020 年，在首任書院院長湯栢燊教授（Professor Kevin Thompson） 的鼓勵下，劉博士著手撰寫院歌歌詞。她回憶道，最大的挑戰是如何以簡潔的文字凝聚書院精神——團結、身分認同與溫暖。其後，當張國祥教授接任書院院長時，他的支持進一步堅定了劉博士的信念。經過無數次修改與討論，英文歌詞終於定稿。
為了讓更多書院成員參與其中，劉博士與駐院小導師林浩洋及 Dom Pedro V House 攜手舉辦院歌作曲比賽，並邀請非駐院導師王嘉祺教授、何揚晴教授及葉劍國博士擔任評審。最終，校友李伊淇的作品脫穎而出。
李伊淇分享時說，她以 F 大調為基礎，將「Moon Chun」的字母轉化為音符——「F‑A‑A‑G C‑B♭‑A‑G」，並以此構築出整首院歌的主要旋律動機。她說：「我的目標，是創作出一段屬於我們的旋律——只要前奏一響起，便能立刻把我們帶回滿珍紀念書院的家。」
歌曲完成後，林浩洋帶領近四十位學生組成全學生製作團隊，由院生鄭嘉鴻擔任指導，教授攝影技巧並指導拍攝。影片以一名學生從入學到畢業的成長歷程為主線，展現書院多元、活潑而溫暖的生活面貌。
負責剪輯的歐陽喆鑫表示：「這不僅僅是剪接工作，更是一次對我們共同記憶的書寫。」
當晚，院歌由林浩洋與鄧惠嶸領唱，並由滿珍紀念書院共鳴（Macalla）聲樂團進行首演。悠揚的旋律在禮堂中緩緩迴盪，感動每一位在場觀眾。隨著歌聲落幕，劉博士再次感謝每一位曾參與的人，「無論貢獻大小，都是成就這份成果的重要一環。」
如今，滿珍紀念書院院歌已成為書院團結、創意與自豪的身分象徵。這首屬於滿珍的旋律，將持續在歷屆院生的心中迴響，綿延成一段代代相傳的樂章。
