在本次論壇中,我們十分榮幸邀請到 Alexandra Y. Aikhenvald 教授 擔任主講嘉賓,為我們帶來題為 「語言萬花筒:語法性別與量詞如何折射世界」 的演講。Aikhenvald 教授現任中央昆士蘭大學(凱恩斯)資深研究教授(Professorial Research Fellow),並為 澳大利亞桂冠研究學者(Australian Laureate Fellow)。她是國際知名的語言學家,在 亞馬遜及巴布亞新幾內亞語言研究 與 語言類型學領域享有盛譽,主要研究方向包括示証範疇、類別詞、性範疇與連動結構等。Aikhenvald 教授在語言學領域學術成果豐碩,代表性作品包括EvidentialityClassifiers: A Typology of Noun Categorization DevicesLanguages of the AmazonHow Gender Shapes the WorldSerial Verbs等。此外,她亦主編The Oxford Handbook of Evidentiality和與 R. M. W. Dixon 教授共同主編The Cambridge Handbook of Linguistic Typology。她的研究深刻揭示了語法結構與知識、文化及認知之間的緊密聯繫,對語言學界影響深遠。

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) is delighted to announce that the 22nd Lecture of the FAH Macao Humanities Forum (the 2nd in the 2025/2026 academic year) will be held on 27 October 2025. The forum aims to provide a platform for world-renowned scholars from diverse humanities fields to share their research with the FAH community and other UM scholars. All members of the UM community are cordially invited to this splendid event.

In this upcoming forum, we are honored to have Prof. Alexandra Y. Aikhenvald as our guest speaker to deliver a lecture on the topic “The World Through the Prism of Language: What Are Gender and Classifiers Good For?” Professor Aikhenvald is a Professorial Research Fellow at the Jawun Research Centre of Central Queensland University (Cairns) and an Australian Laureate Fellow. She is an internationally renowned linguist and leading authority on Amazonian and Papuan languages, as well as on key topics such as evidentiality, classifiers, gender, and serial verbs. Professor Aikhenvald has published numerous influential works and monographs, including Evidentiality, Classifiers: A Typology of Noun Categorization Devices, Languages of the Amazon, How Gender Shapes the World, and Serial Verbs, all published by Oxford University Press. She has also edited The Oxford Handbook of Evidentiality and co-edited The Cambridge Handbook of Linguistic Typology. Her research continues to shape the field of linguistic typology, offering profound insights into how grammar reflects knowledge, culture, and cognition.
