On February 4, 2026, University of Macau Moon Chun Memorial College hosted a creative workshop “Chinese New Year in Miniature: Shrink Plastic DIY Crafts.”

Centered on the theme of the Lunar New Year, the workshop provided participants with festive drawing templates featuring traditional symbols and greetings, while also encouraging original creations and free artistic expression.

The session began with a practical demonstration on using acrylic markers, shrink plastic, and heat guns, highlighting key techniques and safety guidelines. During the hands‑on activity, students used the abundant materials provided to design and craft their own shrink plastic ornaments, thoughtfully blending personal aesthetics and individual style into each piece. The workshop concluded with a vibrant display of diverse and colorful student‑made artworks.

By integrating traditional festive motifs into an accessible creative process, this activity engaged the campus community’s growing interest in hands‑on making, enriched the cultural life of the College, and fostered an innovative approach to cultural expression and heritage.
