Friendly Reminder (Next Wednesday): Invitation to CTLE Professional Development Workshop: Active Learning For Large Classes in an AI-Mediated World (Mar. 25, 12:00PM – 1:30PM in E3-1032)

誠邀出席下週三「AI賦能新世代:促進大班主動學習」教師專業發展工作坊

The Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement (CTLE) would like to cordially invite you to take part in the CTLE Professional Development Workshop: Active Learning For Large Classes in an AI-Mediated World with Dr. Sean McMinn from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Engaging students in large-enrollment courses is a significant pedagogical challenge, now amplified by an AI-mediated world that demands greater student self-awareness. This 90-minute, hands-on workshop moves beyond general active learning to focus on a critical outcome: fostering Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) and metacognition at scale. Using only smartphone-accessible tools like Mentimeter, participants will experience how to embed simple, powerful prompts for student planning, monitoring, and reflection directly into your lesson flow. The speaker will model scalable techniques and demonstrate how to gather real-time data on student thinking, not just their answers.

Date: 25 March 2026 (Next Wednesday)

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Lunch refreshment will be provided to registered participants)

Venue: E3-1032
