Abstract｜摘要

Water security is a cornerstone of sustainable development, yet the challenges surrounding it are becoming increasingly complex, interconnected, and shaped by rapid environmental and social change. Addressing these challenges requires innovative approaches to designing research and action across disciplines, sectors, institutions, geographical regions, and communities.

水安全是可持續發展的基石，然而相關挑戰正變得愈加複雜、相互交織，並深受快速環境與社會變遷的影響。應對這些挑戰，有賴於在不同學科、行業、機構、地理區域及社群之間，開展創新的跨界研究與行動設計。

In this talk, Dr Feng Mao will share his experience in designing cross-boundary research and solutions to advance water security and sustainable development in a changing world. Drawing on recent research projects, he will reflect on how boundary-spanning work can take place at the intersections of disciplines and at the interfaces between science, policy, and practice, through engagement with diverse knowledge communities.

在本次講座中，毛豐博士將分享其在設計跨界研究與解決方案方面的實踐經驗，以推動水安全與可持續發展。在回顧其近期研究項目的基礎上，他將探討跨界工作如何在學科交匯處，以及科學、政策與實踐之間的介面上展開，並透過與多元知識社群的互動實現協同合作。

The talk will also demonstrate how design can serve as a connective, creative, and transformative force in this process, and how knowledge can be co-produced and mobilised to support more inclusive, evidence-informed, and impactful responses towards a more sustainable, resilient, and just future.

此外，講座亦將展示設計如何在此過程中發揮連結性、創造性與轉化性的關鍵作用，並說明知識如何通過協同生產與有效轉化，支持更具包容性、以證據為基礎且具實效的應對策略，從而邁向更可持續、更具韌性及更為公正的未來。

Biography｜講者簡介

Dr Feng Mao is an Associate Professor of Global Sustainable Development and Director of Research in the School for Cross-Faculty Studies at the University of Warwick. His interdisciplinary research examines the dynamic interactions between water, ecosystems, society, and technology, aiming to address complex sustainability challenges through innovative data-intensive, people-centred, and design-based approaches.

毛豐博士為英國華威大學跨學院研究學院（School for Cross-Faculty Studies）全球可持續發展副教授及研究主任。他的跨學科研究聚焦於水資源、生態系統、社會與科技之間的動態互動，致力透過數據密集型、以人為本及以設計為導向的方法，應對複雜的可持續發展挑戰。
