Invitation to Teaching Portfolio Faculty Learning Community AY2023/2024 (Registration Deadline: 17 September 2023)

誠邀參與教學檔案教師互動小組 (報名截止日期: 9月17日)

For the Academic Year of 2023/2024, CTLE continues to organize a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) focused on developing your own teaching portfolio. A teaching portfolio is an important record unique to each faculty member. It is a living document that details your teaching philosophy, goals and achievements, as well as highlights and showcases samples of some of your best pedagogical practices. In this FLC we will explore ways of planning and constructing your very own teaching portfolio. The purpose of this FLC is to help UM academic staff develop one of the key documents reflective of one’s professional development as a university teacher.

This FLC will meet on a regular basis to discuss articles and reports relevant to keeping and developing a teaching portfolio. It will begin in October and continue till the end of the Spring Semester; the total number of meets is expected to be about 5-6 for the academic year of 2023/2024. Each member of the FLC will be expected to attend regularly and contribute to the work of the group. We will use UMMoodle for communication and information dissemination. Members who consistently contribute to the group will receive a citation documenting their participation.

The advantages of being part of this FLC are that it provides a structured environment for multi-disciplinary discussions with colleagues from across campus on issues of common interest as well as the opportunity to develop your own teaching philosophy and be reflective of your own teaching. Each member will receive a copy of The Teaching Portfolio: A Practical Guide to Improved Performance and Promotion/Tenure Decisions by Peter Seldin et al.

We hope that you will consider joining this year’s Teaching Portfolio FLC. To apply, please submit your application online no later than 17 September 2023. Individuals will be notified of their acceptance by the end of the month.
